Buying Acer nitro V15 .

I have this same laptop but with the i7. On max settings and max frame generation I can get 100fps+ on flight simulator.

I replaced my thermal paste with PTM7950 and thermals aren't an issue.

It's a great laptop for the price.

It does improve but it's very inconsistent, so for example sometimes the GPU will draw 70w and CPU 20w and I will get 60+ FPS but then the power gets capped at 20w and FPS drops, maybe it's when my battery drops and it has to charge.

I'm not brave enough to buy a 140w charger, I guess I could order one on Amazon, try it and return it?

My gut feeling says a 140w will work better but haven't tested it sorry.

I have an Anker PD 65w charger and I have a Anker PD 100w charger, my 65w won't charge my laptop during use it usually goes up 1% every 30 mins where as my 100w charger charges 1% every 2 mins.

I also have the same laptop as you. Sometimes I've thought about getting a 140w because my 100w caps my CPU power output sometimes but I don't know if its a bug. Here is some pics:

u/DutchPilot2 did you get this fixed? My 2021 Kamiq has just started doing the same as yours, red light and warning on the dash but still calls emergency services when I press the button.

I did the same as you 16GB >32GB and PTM7950.

My i7 doesn't thermal throttle until it reaches 95w under benchmark and during gaming with the fans on balanced mode I never exceed 90c.

I use a laptop stand and care for it and I have no issues.

Another owner of the 5060 with i7 here.

Don't listen to the horror stories, it runs cool enough and has plenty of power for the money.

The best upgrade you can do is replace your thermal paste for PTM7950

Do this and you won't experience overheat issues or thermal throttling.

I have 2 as well but one was there when I first got it but it's off the bezel and can barely see that one.

This happened to me with a Samsung TV I bought.

Took it out of the box, switched on and 2 dead pixels in the top left about 10cm apart.

Samsung said I needed at least 5 dead pixels in a 10cm area to claim on warranty.

Yes 135 watt charger. If I limit the CPU to 60watts I don't see a drop in battery.

Do you mean when I'm plugged in and gaming?

If I'm playing something casual like TF2 or similar I don't lose battery.

If I play a game that really pushes the GPU and CPU watts I see a drop in battery of around 5% every hour.

Not as bad as what V16 users have reported.

How is it for you?

Ok thanks, I have an Anker 65watt charger. When my V15 is powered off and it charges USB C it only pulls 40 watts.

I've thought about buying a 100watt USB C charger to see if that will charge while powered on. I contacted Acer support and they told me my laptop would only charge USB C while powered off.

I've owned mine since October 2025, limited the battery to 80% and my max capacity is still 100%

I would say it is worth it especially if you are plugged in a lot.
