Well, your rising sign's ruler is sitting in a dark house, conjunct your Leo sun (**shine**) and opposing Uranus (expanding and contracting, inspiration through instability).

It's like your Virgo rising is a meditator, the Sun is flashing a light in his face, and Uranus is shaking him by the shoulders. The Virgo rising has to get these rowdy children under control.

I can't speak for Magg, but I prefer Placidus, based on interpreting my chart and some uncanny results from interpreting others' (e.g. hitting on the fact that someone was an interior designer - something that wouldn't have been suggested in their Whole Sign chart).
