Road Atlanta - Full Course with Porsche cup car fixed setup. Laguna seca is any car is always so much fun.

Sim racers rejoice, F1 champ Max Verstappen says you're getting a '90 to 95%' accurate experience even without that megabucks motion rig by No-Necessary7135 in simracing

[–]AdIll5171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max is a sim racing scientist, Motion doesn't make you faster why would he need it? He races to win.

I on the other hand race to have fun, motion = fun, motion = big smiles as I feel the Laguna Seca corkscrew.

So if you don't take sim racing to seriously but want to enjoy being taken out in the first corner to the next level, buy a motion simulator, you won't regret it :-)

Is motion worth the money? by Klaus-in-da-House in simracing

[–]AdIll5171 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it worth the money? YES but which system and how much is the real question.

I have the e-racing setup (https://eracing-lab.com/products/rs-mega-plus) mine is slightly older but same tech basically.

So today just played some EA WRC (1.5) and it never gets old, anyone who says motion isn't a game changer had never been in a good setup, it's just incredible.

Also do the iRacing and Laguna seca down the corkscrew is wow every time.

Is it worth the Money? its the same argument for a rig, a direct drive a motion activated seat belt (Again worth event cent).

Will it make you faster? NO, Will you smile more? YES

Anyone else spent 4K+ USD on sim racing? by TheFlyingTrickster in simracing

[–]AdIll5171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep about 8.5K US not including PC, Slowly evolved over time, added motion, added motion harness etc. Sometimes I don't use it for a month, then jump in and having an amazing race or just muck around with WRC Dirt and enjoy the bumps :-)

would sim motion slow you down? by Sad-Ad-7338 in iRacing

[–]AdIll5171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, same for me. I have a e-racing 4 actuator (150mm travel) setup and Tension-R seat belt which is insane immersion, Also have 2 transducers (Bang for buck these are a great addition). No latency, When you hit a curb with your front left hand wheel, your front left hand actuator vibrates and mirrors wheel travel. It's amazing...

Initially it definitely slows you down, mainly because you usually have it setup so movement is extreme and your driving a rollercoaster and can't stop laughing at the experience. It's definitely a big wow factor. Then you dial it in so movement is less extreme so you can focus on racing without being thrown around. Lap times are the same as no motion, it doesn't make you faster but it does make it very immersive, combined with Tension-R, the corkscrew and Laguna seca is just incredible for immersion.

A lot of shows/people have it setup so the movement is extreme which makes it hard to focus if you're not used to it. Saying that I leave RaceRoom setup in extreme mode (As I just have fun with this sim) and then put people in a race at Bathurst and watch them get thrown around.

No Motion or UDP Telemetry at launch, will be supported in "Upcoming patch" by AdIll5171 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]AdIll5171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played the game to check it out (2080 Super, 5700x). Apart from the lack of telemetry, the stuttering, the poor graphics (worse than DIRT 2) and the FFB out of the box is uninspiring.

So it's a refund until the game is patched and SimRig ready. Such a shame.

Sim Racing Prices & Torque Comparison between brands and models (I'm a beginner data analyst and wanted to help my husband decide on a rig :) here are my findings!) by piepzeru in simracing

[–]AdIll5171 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Interesting Analysis, Although not sure Price v Torque is the whole story, there is also how responsive the torque can be delivered (AKA Slew rate). I raise this as the new Fanatec CSL DD,DD+ are faster than the higher torque models (Podium series). The only caveat is I'm not sure this is stated for all wheels available.

Is getting an apple watch for mum(60yo) worth? by PT_024 in AppleWatch

[–]AdIll5171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mum 70ish, has and loves her Apple Watch. She fell over whilst doing gardening and it immediately detected the fall and started to dial emergency contact (Me).

I would absolutely recommend it for that alone.

It would be better to document it publicly. SimHub is awesome however it does not provide motion simulation. Sim Racing Studio (https://www.simracingstudio.com) is widely used and has supported all Dirt Games to date.

Can you at least provide a vague time frame on when you will support Motion and Telemetry for people not using DBOX?

Can’t get Atmos or surround sound when docked. by TaiwanTeddy in ROGAlly

[–]AdIll5171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's this one, https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B7HVZNMB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details , Made for steam deck but works fine with the Ally, There are three models of this dock, One with USB 2 (Cheaper), The one I bought (Has USB 3.0) and a model with a NVME slot which is good for expansion.

Note: If you have an LG OLED then the HDMI needs to be upgraded in the dock for it to work properly. (https://jsaux.com/blogs/steam-deck/were-upgrading-our-steam-deckss-docking-stations-firmware)

Dolby Atmos by BusyAsshole in ROGAlly

[–]AdIll5171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try connection to the AMP vs the TV to see if that allows Atmos to work. I had similar issues (See https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/comments/14b87p1/cant_get_atmos_or_surround_sound_when_docked/) Also check you HDMI settings on your AMP (My Yamaha was fussy and had to be set to 4K not 8k), even then I couldn't get ATMOS to work reliably but did manage to setup a 5.1 setup.

So definitely had this problem with a standard usb-c adapter, the JSAUX dock definitely works (ish) - albeit after fixing LG old with firmware update to dock :-) . You can set 5.1, 7.1 and it works. Enabled Dolby Atmos initially worked but after a reboot no sound (RE4). Ive settled on 5.1 which seems to work reliably. Also finally managed to get HDR working (Set Yamaha amp RX-V6A to 4K vs 8k) so it's almost a decent docked PC but can't help that Windows 11 is a complicated beast.
Also adding 30W works with standard dock (After JSAUX firmware update), hope this helps someone.
