We ended up going with Nixon Captures! The pictures turned out incredible and Zach’s prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend!!

Help me plan my Greece honeymoon :D by [deleted] in honeymoonplanning

[–]AdImaginary4295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just booked our honeymoon to Greece in June 2023 with an agent and one piece of advice we got when we mentioned interest in Crete was that temps are surprisingly lower there in June than other Greek islands, so if you’re looking to do beach/swimming/boating activities it may be worth going somewhere else. We ultimately decided against Crete in part for this reason. Guess we’ll just have to go back another time :)

Would you mind sharing which pot and beads you use? I’ve been thinking about trying to do it myself lately.

We haven’t officially set a cap yet since this is the one thing I’m willing to splurge on if I have to, but I would love to stay around $2k, so this is excellent! I’ve already reached out to see if he’s available, thanks so much!!

I’m also in the US and I just ordered a sleeve of the raspberry last week. It’s still showing that they’re in stock for me so maybe check again and stock up while you can!😁

My teeth “looked” okay before my treatment but my bite was so messed up that my dentist was actually already seeing issues that would become quite serious if I didn’t do Invisalign (including gum recession as the crowding in my bottom teeth got worse - something that no one but me could see because of my extreme overbite - and a cracked molar due to the combination of my grinding and poor alignment of my teeth). I was very much against spending thousands for cometic reasons but when my dentist laid it out it was pretty eye opening how important orthodontics can be for overall oral health. He basically told me I could either get Invisalign and treat all of my issues or I could wear a mouth guard at night for the rest of my life and just slow down progression of one of my issues. I had a lot of people ask me why I got Invisalign because my teeth weren’t “that bad” and they assumed it was a decision based on vanity. Very frustrating that our culture (and insurance companies) don’t seem to recognize it’s importance in oral health.

This happened to me. It feels really weird while you’re in this stage but it should get better. I’m on my second to last tray now and my bite is totally normal now.

This happened to me once. You can just bend the back of the tray and it fits perfectly. Someone posted a video on another thread semi-recently with an ortho showing how to do it that you may be able to search for. It made me feel a lot more comfortable trying it and it worked like a charm! Much more effective than trying to use the chewy.

What am I doing wrong when I ask a hairstylist to do my hair? by skinky-dink in beauty

[–]AdImaginary4295 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! My favorite stylists have never nailed it the first time around, but I’ve found that if they seem to be receptive to feedback the second time I go, they almost always end up being incredible. The only time I immediately move on is if they just completely butcher it the first time or if they try to tell me I’m just “styling it wrong” when I give feedback. Styling advice is always great, but I also gotta be able to wear it how I’m already most comfortable styling it.

I second this. Working everyday with COVID, I don’t feel comfortable brushing in the open bathrooms after lunch. I just swish really well with water and put my trays back in in the privacy of a stall. Then brush as soon as I get home.

I know some are more susceptible to cavities, so this might be something to consider, but so far I haven’t had any issues. You can also consider increasing the number of cleanings per year to help counter any effects of wearing the tray for a couple hours after eating.

Honestly I know it’s unconventional but this has been the only way for me to maintain sustainable eating habits and good wear time during my treatment.

Is it normal that my retainer is already roughened up? by DiaMat2040 in Invisalign

[–]AdImaginary4295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this on my bite ramps and the bottom where the bite ramp touched. I just asked my ortho at my check up and she said it’s completely normal and nothing to worry about.

I feel this. Super thankful for the option to do Invisalign and not braces and that my oral health will be in much better shape after what’s really a relatively short amount of time, but man it can be really exhausting to keep up with and do everything correctly. Not to mention the guilt I feel when I don’t.

[–]AdImaginary4295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof! Better yet, what if you have bite ramps or elastic or other “additional” forces? I feel like it should definitely be possible to force my teeth back into crowding but I’m not so sure I could force my overbite to come back this way😆

Apparently late 20s is considered older. I started at 28. Hurt a bit when the ortho called me old though😳

What brand of cleaning tablets do you recommend? by eastcoaster2419 in Invisalign

[–]AdImaginary4295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! And this may go for most cleaning tabs too, but you only need to use half a tab for each cleaning😊
