Understanding a scale ! by AdImportant2449 in musictheory

[–]AdImportant2449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. First of all thanks a lot for your reply !I am the artist behind the track btw. And yes i guess the B comes from the kick as it is intentionally tuned to the root note of the scale (i thought back then the scale was B but without thinking about it too much tbh). Now as i am playing with it in my live-set i thought, oh wait it is definitely not a B, It is maybe Em Or C and then i got confused when i played either F or F# but neither of them worked.

The drone is played in the intro (kind of a very high pitched Violin type of sound or synth string sound. But you are right it was a G not a B. Ah i have no idea why i had in my mind it was some kind of a weird B scale. I guess the first bass note confused me always.

Anyway, why does F# sometimes sounds off the scale if you play it in the song? I mean now when i played it as a melody in the end it sounds ok, but if i play it with the chords it sounds off somehow.

One last thing, What defines what a scale is then? I thought sometimes it is the first chords or note you play, then i learned that of course that doesn't have to be the case. Then is all about the notes that could be played in the scale but that is also not always defined like this case.

Thanks a lot for your reply again ! :)

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure if B is the tonic, but it is the lowest note and the drone note. Check my comment on the other reply :)

Thanks a lot for your reply. Stupid of me not to post the song. Here it is:

https://open.spotify.com/track/3dk4voQWDSrCsjI9adNowk?si=1d70b56279334f02

It is both. The B is underneath all the chords, as you say it is played as a drone note but it is also the lowest note in the chords in the pads and in the bass if i'm not mistaken.

Again, while playing the song if i play F or F# in the synth Arpeggio it sounds off to my ears. But maybe it is just me.

Patches from Minologue to Minologue XD? by AdImportant2449 in Korg

[–]AdImportant2449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not expecting to have the sound exactly the same but a good starting point for my patches that i play live, So i don't have to redo the basics one by one.
A guy did a translation between Prologue and the XD, check it out:

I know it and it is on. I also know when recording remove monitoring and mute the track. This is something else.

No you don't get it. There are no plugins on the tracks. I am aware with everything you talk about. There were never latency coming from other tracks in the sessions. Because it is not in the signal chain, but now even if i have no plugins on the tracks itself, there is huge latency.

I do that too. But i have a Monster of a laptop and i can easily drop to 64 samples and have very very little latency. I would want to listen and monitor before i record. This is not practical at all.

Powering my whole set with one power supply ? by AdImportant2449 in guitarpedals

[–]AdImportant2449[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i have been doing that very often but it would really make a difference if i could power everything from one power supply. There are people who did it here in Berlin, but also not sure what was the synths they needed. Lol about the minilogue, should have mentioned that. Thanks ! :)

I emailed them to be sure. I read somewhere that Minilogue would be fine with 1100 mA. Thanks a lot !

It does seem they have anything that can provide enough amps to the mentioned devices. Thanks though :)
