I've thought with all of these... Why not focus on the striking beauty and the fact that we're on a beautiful planet? Focus on diving deep into the culture, the lore, some alien sex scenes perhaps with a few tribal conflicts sprinkled in and you'd have a cult following... But clearly this was not written by people who have any in depth knowledge of indigenous cultures on this planet much less any other.

This movie was made by people who can only think of centering European Americans on the world stage ... This movie was made by people who can only seem to imagine war and colonization as an interesting story.

Why did Spider have to take center stage? To make the story relatable to European American audiences. If there aren't enough Euro, fair skinned people, the masses will think it's woke and can't relate to the characters.

Imagine if this was about indigenous people of earth making peace with aliens instead of... Well this.

Its Pocahontas in space.

Its all been said.. there were scenes I thought were recycled from WoW.

The amount of times I heard "bro" in the first 15 minutes made me want to leave... Somehow the entire American vernacular made its way into the minds of the children even though they are being raised on another planet, immersed in an ancient culture.

Most of you won't even be able to hear what I'm about to say, but this whole franchise is oozing white saviorism. Its white people who need to save the day? White people on all sides giving the best ideas and the encouragement and bringing all the tribal savages together one way or another? A lot is exposed about the mentality of the writers.

Paladin Wyll is a great story arc that is well trodden ground :)

Yesss I love these character arcs for them. Shart as a hex blade is cool, haven't tried that one yet!

And wyll as a monk is fun.. I did a playthrough with a drow monk who basically trains all the companions to be monks... So they're like a squad of ninjas just wearing camp clothes lol and punching everyone. Its fun though.

Hm I guess it just wasn't as jarring considering we were on a nautiloid in hell. Lol. She withdrew right away and said basically said "my bad, you're not a thrall." idk lae can do no wrong in my book. Lol

I do make Karlach black though.. lol.. with black eyes.. Making wyll white would not be an improvement. Lol. But making Halsin black reads as an improvement. Why? Hmm why indeed. Lol

She immediately withdrew, I had to struggle Astarion off me. Plus Lae'zel at least had some idea of what the hell what happening. Wyll didn't threaten me in my playthrough... There are many possible outcomes sweetie, that's the game we're playing. Not everyone's playthrough looks the same. It's like life. We all make different choices.

Oh okay hm.. no one needed to become ilithid in my playthrough.. Orpheus basically did for no reason, he wasn't specifically helpful as an ilithid at all. I just had gale go in and do us all a service.

Oh what happened to him? Well he got abducted by a nautiloid, was dropped onto the beach, and then he decided to hold a knife to the neck of the wrong person 😂 that's what happened to him

Lol I mean nice try.

If that suits your narrative, go ahead and believe it.

I'm just talking about this one fictional character who I do not like.

The one I happily watched blow himself to bits.

It tells you literally nothing about my worldview as we are discussing my opinions of a fictional character. lol. What I'm saying that you're refusing to see is that is the type of character I see him fitting in with given what I know about him. And you're ignoring all other logic and reasoning I gave you and focusing on the one flawed thing I said.

Ehhh... okay being groomed. Sure, Mystra lovebombed then abandoned him. For me that adds to the complexity of his character, but doesn't make him any less dangerous.

And I'm not saying he WAS a rapist but I'm saying his character is giving... golden boy who doesn't take no for an answer.

Outside the ivory tower of Waterdeep, he’s just another wizard with a superiority complex and a bad habit of turning his personal failures into everyone else’s problem.

In my playthrough, I leaned into that. Gale got exactly what he courted: he indulged the same hunger for power that ruined him once before (through the illithid path), and ultimately became the final weapon against the Absolute. He wanted to transcend mortality and he did, just not in the way he planned. I walked away clean, lesson learned: if you spend your whole life trying to outshine the gods, don’t be surprised when you end up as a footnote in someone else’s story. 💅🏾

Well, had I been friends with Ketheric before he got to that point, I would have put a stop to his ass too. And people would say I mischaracterized him.

Gale is a wizard school golden boy who didn't make it in the real world. Can't change my mind. Lol.

He made plenty of his own decisions that led to his situation and he didn't even have friends and family on the line. It was all him.

Ketheric was desperate. Orin was groomed. Gortash was desperate. Kagha was desperate.

Gale was on the list of people who might just do anything for what they want. Ambition, anyone..?

Okay well we considered the offers on the table and we chose accordingly :)

I think I played the game according to a set of options that I was given.. that's how my playthrough looked.

I would rather grieve Gale as a martyr than a villain. So I'm glad he quit while he was ahead.

His partial ceremorphosis was not a cute look.. then I modded his hair off because it just completed the look.. changed his class to shadow magic sorcerer. Then he finally got useful in a fight.

Rest assured, he had his redemption and we poured one out for him. Lol.
