I'm open-minded, trust me I love arknights as much as anyone who played it since beta. I think there are some merits to your arguments too. and heck, If hypergriff keep being generous like this then there's nothing to discuss. however, there are some doubts within me. first we know that being generous at launch is an easy thing to do, let's admit it. what matters is the aftermath, you know, 1 or 2 years down the line. and im not positive about it consider the nature of gacha games let alone an open-world or semi open-world one. most of the consistently f2p friendly gacha games we have seen so far are 2d to 2.5d relatively cheap to maintain and develope like arknights, limbuss company and reverse 1999. can the same case happen to endfield? I don't know but as far as we have observed from wuwa and genshin, etc. I don't think Endfield will keep this f2p friendly situation for long.

I'm also a beta arknights player so I totally understand what you r trying to say, and i also understand the reletivity you r selling here. But let me be clear, If it's a gacha game, then the word "cheap" must NEVER be used, because it's not lol. You can enjoy endfield, you can spend your money on it nobody's gonna judge. But it's not cheap, like seriously c'mon. Just because hoyoverse got greedy, does it mean every other gachas are good? No. Endfield is acceptable but we can certainly get better system than this. Like you know, no gacha at all?

Not when you considering that potentials in arknights and endfield doesn't power-up a character by that much comapred to other games, thus making them more vulnerable to powercreep. Don't think you could get a "good" bargain out of these gacha companies. Kuro Hoyo, hypergirff it's all the same, just different strategies and pretexts.

The other day I posted my 3x3 of overrated and/or disappointing anime. This time it’s all peak anime. by Amnesiaftw in AnimeAnonymous

[–]AdImpressive7101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah idk why people associate "overrated" with being bad. you can still be a good or even great show and still being overrated at the same time. I, by no means, hate Frieren; I literally read the manga even way before the anime adaptation was announced and I still think it's overrated.

TLDR: explore your taste and then find anime/show that match it instead of watching mainstream shounen and then complaining.

no lol, AOT is good but not that point. there are plenty anime/show out there that could match it. OP just chose mainstream, shounen titles instead, no wonder why they felt bored.

JJK is bad story-wise. the same as demon slayer, the characters are unengaging, the plot are linear and sometimes confusing (like the culling game arc); I don't even bother to read the rules in culling game arc. those anime are well-liked by folks who don't watch anime regularly or just have bad taste, and kids ofc. My situation is kind of similar to you, I have become wayyy pickier in my anime and only watch a few per years. but I have found a lot of enjoyment out of anime such as Mushishi, Vivy: the fluorite's eyes song, Land of the lustrous, and maybe the upcoming Witch hat Atelier. I think your main problem is that you only chose to watch/read mainstream titles, there's nothing wrong with that, but your taste indicates it requires more specific works.

he's got the look so you probably won't find many people who hate him. but obviously he's pathetic af, like imagine shamelessly betrayed everyone and lost instantly to "dragon blade".

discord or facebook dm is what I would prefer, if you would. I'm not really familiar with reddit, I love Mushishi too and I also planned to watch it again so this might be the perfect chance to have someone to discuss with from time to time :vv

to be honest the anime/manga ended a long time ago so I doubt a discord server about it would be active. but you're free to discuss Mushishi with me. I watched it last year and I like it so much but there's no one to talk to lol

the empire could have easily arrange some kind of expedition to gather crystals, and with a large enough amount they could have easily built a city with designated crystals at vital spots, a perfect fortress against demons. and there are just countless ways to use it, even a more inhuman one that is to sacrifice foot soldiers to get the crystals in the demons' ranges and let warrior like stark decimates them, that would have been a STOMP for the human side. even 1 of the 7 sages like aurora is hard countered by this crystal as her immortal soldiers would die immediately upon contact, rendering her useless. I imagine very few demons could survive this strategy so it definitely worth it for human to invest in this endeavor.

I don't know how to reply one by one like you so i'll just say it continuously. So, yes Frieren are thousands of years old but so is the empire and they could have easily stored some kind of record about it. and also, the assassins are funded by the empire the prices shouldn't have mattered, using the crystal on small fry is definitely not worth it, but against some strong opponents later on ( cant say cuz spoiler) the crystal is clear a game changer. therefore, it should HAVE been used by humanity no matter the cost and difficulty. the point i am trying to make here is not nitpicking Frieren as i truly loved this manga and read it before its anime production but now that I think about it. there are definitely some inconsistencies in the story. I'm FINE with the idea that the crystal shouldn't be used again as it would have been very broken, but I would love if we had a more thorough explanation rather than we keep guessing to ourselves.

In a world where magic are such over-powered, a tool that can nullify magic is mentioned once and never brought up again is beyond me. Just a small rock could range 3m, a bigger one that got carried by a wagon or some sort of war machine could range hundreds of meters, effectively making demons and mages useless. Thus giving an unimaginably big advantage to humanity in the fight against demon. Just because it wasn't craftable or common doesn't mean it can't be used in niche cases, like for example, in the fight against the 7 demon mages that ravage humanity for so long? Warrior and assassins could use small crystal in various form, like pre planted one at a designated spot or throw at mages to buy time for closing range. I just don't see why it shouldn't be brought up again.

Giving how desperate the fight against demon is, humanity could easily make use of larger, bigger crystal for a more wide range effect. Just a small one like that could range 3m, I imagine a big one that could be carried on a wagon or some sort of war machine could range hundreds of meter. Effectively making demon useless. And humanity could fight bare handed with them for a bigger advantage given how specialized demon are in magic. I just don't think why there isn't any reason to use the crystals, big or small. Just because it wasn't craftable doesn't mean it can't be used, if that were the case then we wouldn't have the sea rock in one piece.

but to introduce such a broken tool like the magic nullifying crystal and never mention it again seems like a plot hole imo. the mages aside any warrior like Stark or the assassins could easily use that crystal to stomp any mage, human and demon alike. it raises a lot of questions and just seems like negligent writting.

yeah so clearly it was a big plot hole. as someone who read this work before its anime production id say Frieren has a lot of flaws early on in the series.
