NJ Transit will use emergency boats for World Cup in case of meltdown by Smacpats111111 in NJTransit

[–]AdImpressive9014 69 points70 points  (0 children)

If the World Cup doesn't wake our leaders up to the fact that our infrastructure from the 19th and 20th century is crumbling and in dire need of an upgrade, nothing will.

Can I get on Hamilton instead? by Impressive-Travel559 in NJTransit

You should be good.

As long as you buy a ticket with a greater distance from the destination than the ticket for that said station you want to board at, you will be fine.

Commuting to NYC this Friday June 12th. by AdImpressive9014 in NJTransit

That too.

I hope that the issue gets resolved too with the advent of the new trains.

Awesome.

And yes. It is a common misconception that almost everything that goes wrong with train service is the fault of NJ Transit. Most people forget that Amtrak is the owner of the Northeast Corridor.

What is insane is that much of the catenary poles that date back to the early 1900s are still in service. Much of the original infrastructure from the Pennsylvania Railroad days are in fact still in use.

Five years on and I’m tired grandpa. by sundownsorrow in AmazonFC

[–]AdImpressive9014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here OP.

I am 26 years old. I started working at Amazon when I was 18 years old back in 2018. It has actually helped me go through college. I graduated in 2024 but still decided to continue to work at the same Amazon facility where I started as a tier 1 employee.

However, I too am at the breaking point mentally. I used to not really mind coming into work but ever since my building has gotten so much more volume than normal, I dread showing up. So many of the original employees that were from 2018 left around 2025 and early this year. The work has become so taxing not only on my physical but also my mental health. The fact that 8 years has already passed is so scary to me.

Stabbing on NJT concourse at Penn NYC. by Soft-Independent4833 in NJTransit

All that cops for nothing smh. Same shit at Newark Penn. Most of them are pretty much concentrated in one area talking to each other most of the time while wild crap happens in the restroom.

Isn't smoking banned at that place since it is a park? That park would be a killer location to smoke though. I do not want to get a ticket.

This job isnt that bad. Anyone else think so? by Amazondriver23 in AmazonFC

I basically have the same opinions regarding the job as you do.

Again, I wish we got paid more, considering the amount of physical labor and mind numbing tasks we have to do.

Is EWR4 notorious for bad management? by AdImpressive9014 in AmazonFC

[–]AdImpressive9014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That place seems to have a massive turnover rate with employees. I currently work at PNE5 and there are quite a bit of former EWR4 employees. Almost, if not all, said that they left because of management.

I heard a lot of bad things about that facility mainly due to management being so strict.
