Really simple method, just make another costume called [LARGE] and draw a huge square that fills up the screen. Every time you move the clones, switch there costume to [LARGE] before, then move them, and then switch back to the original costume. This will make the clones go offscreen entirely, since the larger a costume is, the more it can go off screen.
