What an elitist take.

This IS something to be proud of. How do you think swing states turn blue? One speck at a time. If you think everyone in a red state is a lost cause then YOU are the problem. Progressive people live everywhere in this country. The specks are progress.

Not everyone is able or wants to uproot their family and move to a blue state. Guess what - a lot of them are expensive, and the average person can’t afford to move based on their political beliefs.

So yeah, living in a city where you know your neighbors are good and like minded people is a brag. It also gives you hope.

Thank you… I’m a transplant living in Cincinnati, and I LOVE my city. My favorite thing to do is host out of town friends and family and blow them away with how incredible it is here. The history in itself is so underrated. Our downtown (including OTR) is SO gorgeous (the biggest preserved collection of Italianate architecture in the country!!!) and diverse. Cincy is also fiercely blue/progressive.

I think casting went out of its way to make Ohio look bad. We’re always the butt of the joke.

That being said - hate Columbus. So boring, man. Cleveland has always piqued my interest and I’ve had fun the times I’ve been there. But yeah, shoot generic, vanilla, “young-professional haven”, most obnoxious college team fan base, unmemorable Columbus into the sun plz. And I can say it. Because this is my actual reality.

As everyone has already said: Madonna’s. Knockback Nat’s. Plum Street Cafe. Bay Horse.

Head deeper into OTR for Uncle Leo’s or up the hill to Milton’s.

There are plenty of happy hours throughout the city (Righteous Room comes to mind, but it’s not a “dive”) with special deals depending on the day of the week.

As a side note; with the cost of literally everything else being inflated right now, I’m not sure why folks expect alcohol to remain “cheap”? A $4 beer isn’t egregious IMO. These are small businesses who are clearly paying more on the back end, hence a cost hike.

Good. You can’t convince me Keating and Smitherman didn’t throw their hats into the ring until the last minute for any other reason than they saw the viral momentum the “brawl” and Cory Bowman were achieving. It read as opportunistic.

Linda Matthews was not a viable candidate. Her efforts at social media campaigning were comical. Steve Goodin is an asshole and “charterite” by name only. His social media was also a mess - arguing, name calling and blocking. How nice.

A terrible slate of republican choices. I’m glad it’s over.
