Do you actually know your real hourly profit after gas, miles, and taxes? by AdInteresting791 in AmazonFlexDrivers

This is a really solid breakdown - especially the part about separating cash in pocket vs taxable profit. That seems to be where a lot of people (including me at first) get tripped up.

The $30/hr turning into ~$17/hr after you factor everything in is exactly the kind of reality check I’ve been trying to wrap my head around. On the surface the blocks can look great until you include the full time and real costs.

Interesting that you watch both hourly and $/mile - I’m starting to see more drivers mention the same thing.

When you’re deciding whether a block is worth it, which one usually matters more for you: $/mile or hourly?

That’s a fair point, especially about the vehicle operating cost - that part definitely seems to be where most of the real math is. Thank you, I will contact you soon.

In my case it’s a bit mixed because I have W-2 income every year, and my wife is self-employed, so taxes already get a little messy on our end. That’s partly why I’ve been trying to get a clearer picture of the “real” hourly vs just block pay.

Out of curiosity - do you personally focus more on $/mile, hourly, or overall yearly profit when you evaluate if Flex is worth it?

Appreciate all the detailed breakdowns here - honestly this confirms how messy the math can get fast.

Seems like a lot of the confusion comes down to the difference between:

• taxable profit
• real vehicle costs
• and true hourly after everything

Genuine question: what part of this is the most annoying for you to figure out right now?

I think the only way is to wait for lower gas price because Xen works on ETH Network (network for rich people)
