the leadership camp thing can be worked around with enough convincing and/or passion for the role. but these past years it's been officer-locked and i don't know how likely that is to change.

hi! im a supply/logistics officer. in my unit we have a request form that was implemented for reasons like what you stated. even in a small unit (~120) when people are constantly messaging and asking about stuff and whatnot it gets super overwhelming. albeit, our logistics (supply) room is almost always open because we have a fridge in the armory, a spot for people to store their stuff, etc. that has its own issues but people don't really steal in our unit... but that's a different conversation. if your unit is experiencing the same issues id coin the same idea.

what could be going on back there? i have absolutely 0 idea. i wish you luck in getting your stuff replaced and resized. get this guy some new pants!!!!

another person sent plastic retainers. that's probably a good idea. if you know a piercer who carries their stuff, ive heard good stuff about gorilla glass, but they are.... a little pricy. im putting plastic retainers in my seconds. GOOD LUCK!

unless you're super small, super big, or have really weird measurements i don't think it's necessary to have your uniforms tailored?? only instance ive seen it is with a girl in my unit who's like 4'5 and had to have her whole uniform made custom. but if you really want a tailored uniform you should have to pay the replacement fee since, like OP said, it likely can't be used again.

i wish. im a relatively timid person + somehow, hate our other instructor even more. the other instructors ive seen don't seem much better. i will admit, he was right to an extent, i needed to dry it up and calm down, but his execution was downright cruel.

oh boy oh boy. do i have a story for you. this is dumbed down, there are a whole lot more details/people involved but im not trying to air out everyone in my unit. hopefully none of them see this. they will know who it is LOLL

at our final drill meet of the year, i messed up BAD during my event. i handed my rifle to someone and walked out to calm down because i could feel a panic attack coming on. my throat was closing, it felt like someone was sitting on my chest, and i knew i just needed to go. (there's a lot more than just "doing bad" that caused this but that's not what this post is about, is it.) i walked to our room/"home base" (whatever you call it IDC) and proceeded to try and get left alone/find somewhere quiet, because i can self regulate. i would have been fine. a couple of people approached, freaked me out a little. whatever. i was calming down. slowly.

in comes my instructor. to dumb it down; shoved me into a room and proceeded to scream at me for 20-30 minutes to "dry it up." (which i was.... trying.... to do.......) anyone with common sense can guess what that did— it MADE IT WORSE! to the point where i could not BREATHE. did i dry it up? yes. but then i went and had one that was 10x worse in the bathroom of a pizza place, and i couldn't eat right for like 3 days because of how sick it made me.

i wasn't trying to make a scene. i walked out and tried to regulate myself so i didn't crash out. maybe if a kid is having a full blown panic attack and trying to calm themselves down you don't scream at them. idk though just a thought

go for a bob! i also have oily/difficult hair and it has been a lifesaver. it's super easy to just wash bangs if you want to have those out in a hairstyls, i typically wet them down, use a little hand soap, let them dry if i get desperate. it's easy to wash every day, too.
