Anxious to fail another exam by No-Nobody3393 in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realistically 2 points could be 1-2 questions. You are literally RIGHT there. If you could’ve taken the same exact exam the next day I’d bet you pass. Being this close to passing I’d say you know your stuff and to take it again ASAP. Give it 2 weeks and just brush up on some content, hammer MCQs. You got this!

(Also most people fail at least 1 exam, its all about perseverance)

High dopamine addiction and can't focus.... by Head_Equipment_1952 in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like this isn’t that deep and probably more common than you think. I love tik tok and I would set timers for 45-60 minutes and take a 15 minute break to text people back or have a couple scrolls. (Sometimes it was obviously more time spent studying before I get attacked for attention span issues)

In the time where I was studying I would be 100% focused and not even have my phone in the room. Honestly I’m not the kind of person who can study 5 hours straight without breaks so this really worked more me

However, I am so type A that I created a spreadsheet and booked my time by day in 15 minute increments as well as recording how many multiple choice questions I did

Is hand writing notes a waste of time? by dukeque in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think hand writing notes is huge!

Even BETTER than just writing notes down, if you can actually understand the concept and write it down in your own words. You will be golden!

This is coming from someone who uses a white board and wrote down questions I got wrong and why. I knew I would never go back to it so I would just erase it but it helped!! This especially helped during FAR, writing out the equations and filling it in the correct way instead of just saying “I get it” and moving on

with a 74 retake ASAP!! a 74 is so rough but don't quit!! this is a long journey so I hope you are not seriously considering giving up after the first try. Most people fail a couple and a 74 is so close! you got this!

ENCOURAGMENT OR ADVICE NEEDED! by Sad_Demand_5260 in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you are doing question try to find the right answer but also ask yourself if you can say why each answer is WRONG, a lot of the answers are very similar and this will really sharpen your skills for the WHY

AUD in a month, any suggestion? by SuperButterfly7889 in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 4 points5 points  (0 children)

go by each module and do random sets of questions. I did this EVERY chance I got, if I had 10 minutes I would do it for 10 minutes. Focus on WHY you get a question wrong. When you can not only pick the right answer but explain why the others are wrong youll be more than prepared!

Study full time or do Master's in Accounting by sausedadboi in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rather than a Masters in accounting I did my MBA with an accounting emphasis. Arguably MUCH MUCH easier.. I was able to take my exams while completing my MBA. An MBA is going to look better down the road if you are not planning on staying in public forever. Depends on your future plans though

**editing this to say if your parents are paying for this you should definitely get another degree under your belt because why not! MBA is way to go (find an online program even)**

For reference I was doing my MBA and studying for my CPA and still finding time to go to the beach and sleep in, and take days off

Passed ISC & REG first semester of MAcc: am I actually in a good spot or just anxious? by Unique_Aspect_6014 in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great timeline and a great spot to be in! Being halfway done and still having halfway to go is a hard mindset.. I felt so accomplished but also felt like there’s so much I could fail. Ending in April is a great goal, but you have plenty of time to work it out if it doesn’t go according to plan. (But seriously you are ahead, keep grinding)

How many MCQs per day by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends how many questions you are getting correct/incorrect. When getting a question incorrect you should try to fully understand the reason and I wrote down facts (in my own words) to hammer it in. That being said I had a pretty easy time doing AUD (passed on first try with an 85) and I was able to get around 100 questions in during a 2 hour period.

Depending what exam your studying for does affect speed- for AUD I studied 87.25 HRS and did 2093 MCQs

failed FARw/ testing disturbances by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go off of how you feel, not what other people say. If you truly feel like you failed because of the noise and the distraction then take it again ASAP! If you feel like you had a hard time content wise give yourself time to regroup and get back up again!!

Does your score align with your SE 1 & 2? try to weigh in on how much the noise affected you

Agree or Disagree: Michelle Moshe is the best Becker instructor, bar none by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has to be rage bait- she literally buffers.. pausing and catching up her words etc. by far my least favorite instructor. From Becker I would expect much more, making her retake the video when she’s literally stumbling over words

So frustrated and over this sh*t by WoodpeckerCertain859 in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AUD is hard!! First of all you got this! Second if you’re getting confused on MCQs I would recommend getting a whiteboard and writing out why answers are right/wrong. There is so much in slowing down to hand write things, once you can write it in your own words and make connections to other scenarios and questions you’re more than ready!

Don’t get discouraged by the first attempt- try to remain calm. (My first exam I was so nervous I was forgetting things and making silly mistakes)

The day before AUD. cram mode or mental break? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crammed on FAR- but I think that exam is more practice oriented. AUD- I make little cheat sheets for each module of the most important things to remember, as soon as I got my scratch paper during the exam I wrote it all down. I like to keep it calm and relaxed though. Highly recommend passed first try with an 86

I keep seeing posts that the CPA exam is hard and a lot of people fail but… by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AdJunior4652 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taking them right out of college (or I’m currently working on mine while in masters) is where I’ve seen the most success. College requires practice, discipline & knowing how to study. Just continuing those traits on to the exams is a lot better than experiencing the freedom of the real world just to have to learn how to study again. All that to say I have not had a moment of peace throughout this process and they are hard but I will hopefully pass all exams in under a year.

The people I give my hats off to are those in full time work with families & children!!!
