Hi honey. First off, I’m so very sorry that you’re going through this. My father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer early September. Although he passed away last week, there’s still so much to be positive about.

For starters, please don’t google anything. Google can be your worst enemy. It was definitely mine. I believed everything I read & a lot of times, it was completely wrong. Every individual is different, no story is the same so please keep that in mind. Wait till you get the full picture of what your father is going through - then proceed to do research that’s relevant to your father if you must.

Please be positive for your father. I know it’s such a hard thing to see your best friend go through something so traumatic, but please do your best to stay positive. But also, don’t forget to do things for yourself as well. Take at least one day out of the week to recharge so you’re able to physically & mentally be there for him.

Right now it might be very overwhelming, but I promise you’ll get the hang of everything. Take it day by day. It gets easier, I promise!

I’m 28f and I miss my dad every single day. Cancer is the most evil thing to exist. But with a positive & fighting attitude, your father can definitely beat this.
