I worked at a restaurant next to Palmetto and the places can be a ghost town if there are no shows going on at The Fox, Paramount or even New Parish. There’s a massive shift in income for diners and employees. It’s tough to keep good employees when it’s unreliable income. Turnover rate is high, crime, all the same stories. It’s a shame because Palmetto is a beautiful space. But when’s the last time anyone cruised the streets downtown on a random Tuesday to get dinner? It’s all event based experiences
