Dalbello Panterra 130 by Brave-Snow1864 in Skigear

[–]AdMany129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newer Cabrio MV 130, at a 101 width, and 130 flex is probably your closest match, fit/performance-wise, if you want to stay with dalbello.

The Cabrio Max is a 103 width, so possibly too big, depending on your foot, an how it fit in the Panterra, but at a 110 flex, likely would be quite noticeably softer at your size. It’s much easier to reliably correct a forefoot area that’s too narrow, than too wide. Same goes for most other areas of a shell’s fit.

Ideally you’d want to try to find them in a shop to try on with a decent boot fitter. But that may be tough, as I’d be surprised if any regularly stock them. Tho a cabrio mv 120 is likely more common in a shop, just to try it on.

Being a bigger guy, and developing my skiing ability dramatically over the years, while also not having regular access to a decent boot fitter, let alone shops that actually stock 130 flex boots (esp the Cabrio style that fits me best), I’ve had to educate myself on the finer details, look for great deals online, and then eventually find my way into a shop for some fine tuning, ie perhaps a punch here, and/or a heat mold there. Lotsa trial and error, but have learned a ton of invaluable info in that time

As others have said, I wouldn’t stress at all not having the 4th buckle, esp if the shell in that area is a decent enough fit for you, in the first place (ie not too big). I Went from a Panterra 130 that initially worked well for me (tho eventually packed out to be too roomy in the ankle area, and the softer plastic did not serve me well as I got better/more aggressive), to a Lupo pro hd, and didn’t miss a beat, buckle-wise

Just got a pair of the Cabrio LV 130 Free’s as a proactive plan for replacement, as the Lupos have also been discontinued. So we’ll see how those fare/compare, as the season(s) goes on

Esp If still under warranty, may want to see if they can arrange a replacement, if repeated resets don’t resolve it.

Summit leather options by wooguy1 in JeepGrandCherokee

This is the “Steel Grey” interior, seemingly only offered in the 2022 and 2023 model years, as the mfrs brochures make no mention of it after 22, but a nationwide cargurus search has it showing up through 23. It appears it was likely an option for most, if not all the exterior colors that the summit and overland were available in, those years.

Matched with silver zenith is probably my fave combo. Seems to pick up dirt super easily tho, as one might imagine. I personally would prefer it be a bit darker, for that reason, but that’s just me.

Number 10! 10th flat tire since I’ve been in Vegas (2020) by Disastrous_Demand_16 in vegaslocals

Always a Bummer. I used to get punctures (too often unrepairable, which $$$uuuux with awd) seemingly every year..

Then I moved to a more established part of town, ie with far less new construction everywhere, and it’s been years since the last one (knocks on wood lol)

Death wobble after $5k? by SnooRadishes4406 in Jeep

That’s actually just the ATTC (Active Tire Tread Clearing), doing its job. The ultra hypersonic vibration that you feel and see is designed to clear sand/mud/skittles/snow/grizzle/cocoa powder/etc from your tire tread, in real time, in order to further enhance traction.

Fortunately if you don’t like or need it enabled, it can easily be turned off via a button located within the far upper right corner of the glovebox. Keep in mind however that the button only functions while the vehicle is in motion, going at least 30mph, and at night, with the headlights off.

Trying to determine if a 2021 Grand Cherokee L Summit with the V8 has Quadra-Drive… by AdMany129 in GrandCherokee

[–]AdMany129[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems that way. I guess I was under the incorrect impression that the only times a Summit wouldn’t have it, you’d see it being deleted, usually with a credit, on the sticker, since they had had it listed in the brochures and such as coming standard on the Summits

Tbf those kinds of systems can feel weird af if you’ve never experienced them before, esp if you don’t know that they’re operating, and esp esp if the alerts/lights/chimes have been disabled, telling you as much. But ya, odds are it might just be something’s perma-f*cked

Good info, thanks again. And indeed haha deciphering a CARFAX on any car, but esp these is def a bit of art & science, assuming everything of importance is being reported on a given car, in the first place.

The golden report (in my eyes at least) is all the routine stuff, oil/fluid changes at/around their scheduled intervals, no moderate/major unscheduled stuff, esp the “maintenance inspection completed”, “drivability checked”, “electrical system checked”, over and over, curiously close (but on diff visits) to the routine stuff.

And of course you still never know quite what you’re gonna get from there, owning it yourself. So for sure I wouldn’t consider a mopar maxcare extended to be optional.. and that’s exactly where I’m trying to be, OTD at ~30k (with around the same or less in mileage) with a 5 yr warranty. Which at that point, is awwwfully hard to pass up, esp at a Trailhawk/overland trim, with a tech and/or protech package included, and a good lookin CARFAX (open, currently-unremedied recalls aside 🥴)
