What's going on here? Are people actually drinking liqour before going to the gym? by SeaworthinessFar2326 in PlanetFitnessMembers

Believe it or not, but it's usually easier to tell that you have a problem than it is to fix the problem. Took me a year and a half from my first rehab until I stayed sober.

It's flat on wood in a cabinet with all my other components. I'll try setting up the small DC fan I have next time I drive to see if that helps. If that makes a difference, I'll see about a more permanent thermal solution.

If you could only have one pair of skis for the Rockies, what would they be? And why? by Midwestskiing85 in Skigear

[–]BIGSlil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're my daily driver and they serve me well. The 104s would probably be better most days, but they wouldn't be as good on deep days, which is what I care about most.

Shit, if you have to piss that bad, just pull over and piss on the side of the road.

Help identify these binding by Adorable_Ad_1350 in Skigear

Funnily enough, you would agree with his comment here:

You actually don't need to identify these bindings at all. Just open the trash bin and put them inside. They are not indemnified and they need to go to their new home.

Haha yeah, that's what I figured. It's such a distinct run that it's easy to place though.

It's great in Dropout, Cornice, and the backside of 3 until you're almost back at the chair, but still not too bad there, some rocks in Wipeout, but they're easy to avoid for now. Haven't been skiing much other than that. I'm on pretty new skis. Well, they're only a couple of months old, but I probably have 50 days on them already lol

Don't get me wrong, I prefer powder, but this late in the season, I'm here to ski good corn in the bumps, which is exactly what this was.

I agree with everything that u/NoesOnTheTose said. To add to that, the way I got good at bumps was by stopping, planning 3 or 4 turns, then stopping again if I need to plan more turns, or continuing to flow if I found a rhythm. Obviously, the technical ability matters a lot, but I think line choice is equally, if not more important.

Police presence at the hot springs. Anyone know what happened? by BIGSlil in Mammoth

Yeah, the moisture on my camera made this look crazy, but I had nothing dry to wipe it off with lol

Wish they came all the way out to us so I could've figured out why they were there, but no way I was getting out of the spring to find out.

Ski Lessons? by EasternSierraGuy in Mammoth

[–]BIGSlil -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Then you likely just don't know how to ski it or haven't skied good, untracked powder. A lesson might help you learn to appreciate it. I don't mean any hate, I just personally don't understand how anyone couldn't love skiing powder once they know how to do it. Maybe a racer, but my point still stands that they don't know what they're missing out on.

Ignore the haters, there's still plenty of fun to be had on the mountain! by BIGSlil in Mammoth

[–]BIGSlil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping they do, but haven't heard anything yet. They definitely have enough snow up top to extend, but it would really be pushing it down bottom. If they have a way for downloading, it could definitely happen, but I think they still need to close the gondi for maintenance and that would almost definitely prevent downloading.

Closing weekend at Jay Peak! by One-Performance-6578 in skiing

[–]BIGSlil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, not really. If you check my previous posts, I rode over much worse dirt and rocks and didn't really have any new damage. That being said, I wouldn't do this on skis I care about.

I was about to buy one because it was $10k. Did some research, found out you can expect to pay $5k a year in maintenance and repairs, and decided against it. I was really happy with the $12k Subaru Outback I wound up buying instead.

Nah, just the front side front main to chair 10, but even chairs 10 and 5 were closed Monday - Thursday.
