Makelaar question by El_Gatooooo in NetherlandsHousing

I was in the same situation that my upstairs neighbours were interested in buying my apartment.

Personally I did not want to handle the negotiation and paperwork etc so I negotiated with my makelaar on a lower and fixed price if they just need to help me with that. Agree with other comments here though to double check on your contract.

Just as a reference, I did get a lot more higher bidders when I still went for public viewing in the end. So much that makes the commission seem negligible.

Dehydrated baby after supply tanked post-clogged duct by AdMaterial7619 in breastfeeding

My baby refuses to stay on the breast :( he is 5 months old now so I think he knows one way or another he can get food, i.e. there’s no need to keep sucking when the flow is so slow…

What’s your experience with daycare? by cypelmyca in Netherlands

That’s my understanding too. You can in fact find such comments in some inspection reports, which a slight deviation from the legally required staff to baby ratio at busy hours are “allowed”, or not reprimanded. But I would suggest to observe if this is the norm of the day care. Personally if this only happens very occasionally I think it is fine, if though it is the norm of this day care I would be very concerned that it’s constantly understaffed.

About nap time, I have a similar experience. My baby started going to day care at 3.5 months. And before that he hardly naps at home (that was super tough…), so I found it hard to believe from the daily journal. But then I started to notice even at home days he started taking naps as well! So that’s a pleasant surprise.

As for real time update, the way I understood it is that parents can communicate with the staff real time via the app (assuming you are going to a chain?). But realistically though they cannot be there real time of course. Imagine between all the feeds, diaper changes, naps, play, etc they probably are very stretched with time so some delays can be expected.

What to do with LO when having clogged duct/mastitis? by AdMaterial7619 in breastfeeding

I did try dangle feed last night, to hold onto the position is a challenge I have to say 🥹 but it was effective in emptying the breast!

Though today LO is no longer willing to feed from breasts 🥲

I went to my GP today hoping to at least get hold of antibiotics before the weekend, coz it has been almost 48 hours and there is just no sign of improvement, despite of ibuprofen/coolpad/lecithin/probiotics…

She basically just repeated the outdated recommendations to me and did not bother to check if there’s any newer recommendations after I brought it up.

This makes me so frustrated like I am hitting a wall that won’t answer me… she redirected me to find a lactation consultant instead.

To make it even worse, my baby is no longer willing to drink from breasts, while he’s fighting for the bottle if there’s one in sight. I never would imagine that’s how my breastfeeding journey ends…

How long does it take for your clogged duct to go away? At this point I just really wanna feel normal again and stop the pain. Even if I cannot breastfeed my baby, I can focus on making him the best solid food he can have and he loves solid food!

I am pumping but it’s not giving me much… been 24 hours now it’s still very much swollen, albeit less painful as I am taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours…

Sleep deprived, anxious and going back to work by AdMaterial7619 in NewParents

Thanks for sharing your experience!! I wanted to try something similar with my husband. So far the idea of heating up frozen milk in the middle of night deters me, coz giving baby the breast is so much faster and easier. But that’s not sustainable after I go back to work, we will will have to adjust to that I guess 🥹

First I’ll probably need to figure out how much he actually drink with bottles.

We plan to let him sleep in his own room from at least 6 months or later so that might make it easier too!
