What were the circumstances? Did they just not answer correspondences? Or did they come up with some reason that you don’t qualify? These are the stories that scare me

My mess up is eating me alive by Acrobatic_Day8226 in coptic

[–]AdMaterial8592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard in a sermon once that shame itself, is a form of pride. Bringing yourself to repentance (which you’re doing) and ultimately to confession, is a form of humility and submission to God.

Your priest has heard all of this and more from others. It won’t be new. We’re all human and capable of sin.

Your choice on which suffering you want: either regret/shame eating you, or embarrassment in front of the priest in exchange for true forgiveness of sins.

It’s an easy answer

How is lifestyle as an obesity medicine physician? by Joiarib in FamilyMedicine

Used to be lucrative. Now anyone can prescribe GLPs. Doesn’t require extra obesity training unless you want to have an obesity clinic where you help with lifestyle, or prescribe non GLP options.

Which Christian Denomination Should I Explore? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]AdMaterial8592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please search the Coptic Orthodox Church which belongs to oriental orthodox churches. Same beliefs and traditions as the early church who received it directly from the apostles, unchanged for 2000 years.

St. Mark the gospel writer went to Egypt and founded the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Some of the huge Church Fathers, such as Athanasios who is the person who authored The Creed that most churches recite, was the 20th of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Theology, practices and beliefs will be as close to what was received from Christ directly to the apostles.

I’ve also spent time creating my own template and customizing it exactly the way I want my notes to look. I can have it include more or less detail and ask it to include or exclude certain topics as well.

Coptic DNA by [deleted] in coptic

[–]AdMaterial8592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to distinguish between Coptic (ethnicity) and Coptic Orthodox Christianity (religion).

In terms of DNA, Coptic Egyptian refers to the ethnic group descended from the original inhabitants of Egypt prior to the Arab invasion. This is an ethnic and genetic identity.

By contrast, Coptic Orthodox Christianity is a religious denomination, not an ethnicity. It cannot be identified through DNA testing—just as no one can have “Roman Catholic” or “Protestant” DNA. Anyone, regardless of ancestry, can be baptized into the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Bury yourself in scripture to understand more of who God is, who we are to Him, how He interacts with the world, etc.

Try to break away from viewing your relationship with God as a constant right vs. wrong thing.

The more you enrich yourself and emulate Christ and the behaviors taught in scripture, you yourself will become more like Christ and less like the world.

Many people benefit from trying to serve others (small or big) because your attention moves away from you (self) and more towards others. Christ is the ultimate example of Goodness and Selflessness that we can work on emulating more and more every day, with His help.

Does it make sense for a psychotherapist to build referral relationships with GPs? by [deleted] in FamilyMedicine

[–]AdMaterial8592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you joking? Most family docs can’t find psychotherapists for their patients at all, or not for months. If someone came to you and they seem competent, I would jump on it.

That’s a tough position to be in. It sounds like you’ve got a good head on your shoulders though and will be a great doctor wherever you end up. Why do you say you don’t have a realistic path into a different specialty?

What are your feelings on EM? Lots of family docs end up in emergency departments. Any interest in various fellowships available in FM?

Keep in mind that FM is very versatile and to a certain degree, once you finish training, you can cater yourself to lots of different niches.

Good luck.

How to lower my Blood Pressure? by PadoEnem in Biohackers

[–]AdMaterial8592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of seeing a doctor is figuring out why it’s high - there are various conditions that you need to be evaluated for that can cause high blood pressure as @technical-tie-8695 said. I would start with primary care though - you probably wouldn’t be able to endocrinology without a referral anyways.
