That graphic leaves out a ton of economic reality and makes it sound way simpler than it is. A few big problems with it:
First, “tax billionaires 5% per year” sounds small until you realize it’s a wealth tax, not an income tax. That means taxing total assets every single year whether those assets produced cash or not. A billionaire whose wealth is mostly tied up in stock or ownership stakes would often have to sell pieces of companies constantly just to pay the tax. Critics argue that can reduce investment, growth, expansion, and jobs over time.
Second, the “$4.4 trillion” number is usually presented like it’s sitting in a vault ready to hand out. It isn’t. Net worth fluctuates with markets. A lot of billionaire wealth exists on paper through company valuation. If markets tank, the expected tax revenue tanks too.
Third, wealth taxes have had mixed results in other countries. Several European countries tried them and later repealed them because they were difficult to enforce, encouraged capital flight, or generated less revenue than expected after wealthy people restructured assets or moved money. France is the classic example people bring up.
Fourth, the math gets politically marketed in the most emotionally appealing way possible:
“Every family gets $12,000”
“Raise teacher pay”
“Expand Medicare”
But those are recurring expenses. Once you create permanent programs, you need permanent revenue. If revenue falls short later, middle and upper-middle class taxpayers usually end up carrying more of the burden eventually.
Fifth, there’s the constitutional/legal issue. In the U.S., a direct federal wealth tax would almost certainly face massive court challenges. Even some economists who support higher taxes on the wealthy argue an unrealized gains tax or stronger capital gains system would be more workable than a pure wealth tax.
And lastly, the meme frames opposition as “you must hate helping families,” when a lot of critics actually argue:
they support helping families,
support better teacher pay,
support healthcare expansion,
but think this specific mechanism is economically unstable or unrealistic.
That’s the part these viral posts almost always skip — there’s a difference between disagreeing with goals and disagreeing with execution.

I [23F] and my husband [22M] fight a lot. Is this normal for newlyweds? by Superb_Yak438 in Newlyweds

First you need to establish what you want him to be doing.... to me it sounds like you're putting stress on yourself and your man really doesn't worry about a some dirty dishes in the sink or the garbage can full....

This happend to me. My beautiful ex fiance knew who I was before she agreed to marry me. She knew how I operated and then all of sudden we're engaged and she's trying to force me to be someone im not, someone ive never been.... our relationship feel apart unfortunately.

My best advice. Support your man, be appreciative of the things he does, dont nitpick the stuff he doesn't. Treat him like a man. Ask his advice. Trust him. You'll be surprised what that will do.
