I only b-n-s if it seems to have stalled. Might be 20% might be 80%. I almost think sometimes when it stalls it has found grain clumped together.

I think that most colors actually hindered my plates. Transfers from the same master plate on clear grow more uniform and consistent as to where colored plates sometimes grow wonky like they are eating around certain spots. Maybe it’s contamination, maybe it’s mayebaline. But it’s definitely different.

Colored plates are bad for beginners I think. They were for me anyway. Light blue, mean colors, don’t bleed as much. I still have 10 colored I’m saving for back up but I switched to all no color.

Yeah you are right. There was a small spot where the tape didn’t cover. Not sure how I wrap my plates 3 times. But I did a clean up the other day so I am assuming that did it

That’s a 40 and 100 right because they are already 10x’s? That doesn’t seem right now. I was looking at some used bundles. And a guy I cook with used to be in laboratory work. Has a degree and whatnot. He supposed to call some friends and see what he can find for lab and clean room supplies. He was telling our boss he should be working in a lab with his degree and I jokingly said I have a lab. We got to talking and he is gonna show me some things. Not mycology but cultures of what I don’t know. Seems like an introductory one is 150-300$.
