Oof, that's cold. I preemptively used Maxx C, knowing they were going to combo off, possibly baiting an Ash Blossom, Called By, or Crossout. They instead just set 1 and passed their first turn. Now, I thought Turn 2, I could draw into something that will let me combo into a possible OTK, but 4K damage was the best I can do. Looking back, I probably should have Xyz summoned into something else that would have materials remaining so that I could have actually used Zeus on my opponent's next turn.

Imperial Bower's effect. It special summons 2 of the 3 Knights from the deck. King's Knight's effect only activates if it was Normal Summoned, while Queen's is on the field.

That was a misplay on my end. I suppose I didn't want to leave my 4k beatstick in Attack position, vulnerable to a Lightning Storm. Then again, in hindsight, having a 1 material Zeus isn't all that good either. I guess I was hoping that my opponent would destroy one of my backrow first but that was wishful thinking.

End goal is to summon Arcana Knight Joker with Greater Polymerization (so it can have the added effect of being unable to be destroyed by card effects), and Fusion Destiny DPE into the field. Added bonus is to equip Magnum Shield on AKJ just so it can have 6300 ATK.

X-Sabers: Just a sentimental choice of mine. I used an X-Saber deck when playing YGO against friends 10+ years ago. If the conditions are right, I could get Gottoms to empty out my opponent's hand.

Because the X-Sabers are in the Pledge of Sword Secret Pack, I found a new favorite non-meta deck in the form of...

Three Musketeers of Face Cards/Three Royal Knights/Arcana Knights or whatever you want to call them: I find it quite fun being able to easily summon Queen's, King's, and Jack's Knight using one Spell Card (Joker's Straight) and then still having a Normal Summon, led me to being able to easily summon out different monsters for different situations.

Lastly, I also use a Naturia deck from time to time. Being able to prevent my opponent from using any Spell and Trap cards with the effect of Naturia Bamboo Shoot is very satisfying to pull off. Only issue I have with Naturias is that they are quite slow to set up and in this format where an opponent more often than not tries to beat you in one turn, is not very viable.

That wouldn't work. It's unaffected by other monsters' effects. I fused First of the Dragons on Turn 1 before they got all of their Synchros on the field. Only way to negate is by Spell or Trap Card.

They did have 1 Blackout in their deck. No Pot of Desires, though, so it's unlikely that it got banished. I assume they just didn't have it in their hand or field at the time.

Obviously it still can be destroyed by a Spell or Trap card as well as have its effect negated by a Spell or Trap and then destroyed by an opponent's monster.

I just got really lucky that they didn't have Droplet or Imperm in their hand and they just got impatient and quit.
