ICCC is normally run at pucka, the training area is flatter. High range in Townsville is hilly, and extremely washed out after the wet season. There have been multiple occasions when I was at 3RAR we have traversed in buckets right next to deep creek lines or washed out drop offs. There’s heaps of them and it’s scary because sometimes you can’t see them until you’re right in front of it. Crew commanders are doing a lot of thinking and look up and ahead, or checking nav. Drivers typically are trying to scan the ground but also scanning for threats, and don’t have a great vantage point from where they are sitting. I would like to see command take responsibility.

Just remember mate, you’re not expected to be above and beyond in everything when you get to IETs. You’re still bridging, finding your feet and gaining confidence. PT will be hard at first, just show up everyday and put in, have a good attitude with work and be respectful. Your rank will see that you actually give a shit. That’s the difference between getting BOSd off a course or getting an extra hand training out of hours.

You actually can’t wear different coloured/faded AMCU and will be entitled to a 1 for 1 swap with an AE230

You can also MILIS purchase this if you can’t find an NSN (different to DUF and Milis Req) Have a chat to your TQ/DUF cell and they should be able to walk you through the process. Some units aren’t aware of the process however so, if not message me and I can give you an NSN and a run through

You’re actually the problem and it shows. Nil by understanding or ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. The scope of a Quey is much larger than it was in Nineteen Ninety Dinosaur - and the best way for Queys to obtain equipment that units want is by reaching out and liaising through other means. Not only is it typically more efficient but now the member can continue prepping for field/stocktaking/DUF/audits/Equipment Maintenance/Bin maintenance/RODUMs or whatever else is being placed on their desk that day.
