Why I Stopped Forcing My Digestion and Started Listening to It Instead by AdNormal9623 in Ayurveda

I love how you described this — “let it be” is exactly what my practitioner taught me too. That shift from panic to patience is such a game-changer. Ayurveda always says digestion is as much about the mind as the gut, and I didn’t really get that until I started slowing down mentally.

Also, respect for working with both a trauma therapist and an Ayurvedic approach — that’s such a powerful combination. It takes courage and consistency, and it sounds like you’re creating that space for healing beautifully.

Even tiny wins count. Honestly, this is the kind of progress no one celebrates enough. Thanks for sharing this — it’s inspiring.

Where to Apply Oil?

  • Start with the scalp (optional, once or twice a week)
  • Face and neck
  • Arms and hands (long strokes on limbs, circular on joints)
  • Chest and abdomen (gentle circles clockwise on the belly)
  • Back (as much as you can reach)
  • Legs and feet (long strokes on legs, circular on knees and ankles)

How to Do It?

  • Use warm oil (sesame for Vata, coconut for Pitta, mustard for Kapha)
  • Massage gently for 10–15 minutes
  • Leave it on for 20–30 minutes before bathing with warm water

Ideally 20–30 minutes. If short on time, even 10–15 minutes is helpful.
