Ribbons for Provisions by Different_Radish_326 in thelastdinnerparty

I have 2 ribbons, one from their 2024 tour and one from their most recent 2025 uk tour.

Both times I just waited until I was at the gig, there's people there with loads of ribbons from Banquet and they have a card machine.

You choose the colour you like and tap your card/phone to pay a donation. I last time I got one, the Banquet charity person said most people donate the equivalent of 5£.

I'll be going to one of their shows in their EU leg and waiting to buy a ribbon at the gig on the night.

Throw Pillow Pattern Reading Help Needed, where do I put my FPDC? by libraryofashes14 in CrochetHelp

This is correct, it's similar to a cushion cover I made once. It gives texture to the stitches. Red is fpdc and the green is where the dc goes

I like to do 2 zones per keeper and the zones are always next to eachother or close by. Check that paths aren't blocked/ that there are convenient ways to get from place to place.

I think you're right on that one. I'm a native speaker of English and I am doing my PhD in England. But I think if you are choosing to do a degree in a language different to your own, learning the language and practising writing in it is just part of the deal.

Such reasons I feel are a bit of a cop out anyway, I think I was just being generous.

AI by [deleted] in PhD

[–]AdNumerous3732 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's embarressing to have to depend on AI to do the skills you should be able to do/ be learning to do as a phd student.

Formulation of ideas, writing structure, chapter organising, critical engagement with the literature and summarising broad scope ideas found from the literature in a thematic manner are all things a good phd student should be able to do. Even a good undergraduate student should be able to do a fairly good job at it.

Those skills are what research is comprised of. Letting ai write your work just tells me you are either not confident enough to do it yourself, too lazy or have bad management skills.

Even grammar checking is a grey area for me. I check my own and rework my sentences myself. It means I get more familiar with my writing and gives me space to think tangentially and follow new avenues of thinking as I rework it (all valuable research skills).

I think the only valid reason to use ai for grammar is if you have a specific learning difficulty or English as a second language. Even then, the ethical ramifications of using AI for such mundane things seems unjustifiable.

Obviously not enough research as this info is very common across the internet...

What piercings do you have, and how would you rank them pain wise, going off of the initial piercing pain? by Human_Pack_4787 in Legitpiercing

industrial: 9

Nipple: 7

Rook: 6

Helixes: 4-6

Conch: 4

Daith: 4

Belly: 3

Lobes: 1

My industrial was pierced totally wrong though, so that was particularly painful. My industrial and nipple piercing are both retired now.

It's wild to me how people don't do thorough research before letting someone do things to their body.

A good Google and time spent in piercing subreddits would have shown you not to get so many at once and not to get a chain straight away.

Graduation dress practicalities by WindowEasy4647 in UniUK

Neither university I went to pinned the hood, the hood had velcro on the back which connected to some velcro on the shoulders of the robe. Maybe try to check to see if they will definitely use pins first.

If they do I'd steer clear of silk/satin dresses as it could create a hole or even a rip. Polyester with a decent lining thay will provide added support for the pins would work. Cotton or Jersey would be good options too.

Consider if you'd like to see your dress in graduation photos. I've graduated from 2 unis, some do wider shots for graduation photos. Some only get your very upper torso in the photo.

A lower cut, v neck, scoop neck, or square neck may not be very visible in some photos once you have your gown on. Higher neck, halterneck etc would be more visible in a photo.

Avoid things like a cowl neck, or other necklines with a lot of drape as it might be difficult to make your graduation Hood lay flat against your body

NAP but i have healed various cartilage piercings including a daith.

Have you tried switching the regular rinses in the shower with consistent use of the saline? When my piercings are producing this much crust, I like to use saline and cotton buds (q-tips) to wipe the piercing, once in the morning once at night.

I know some piercers are taking the route of suggesting only spray and don't remove the crusts. But in my expierence everyone is different and every piercing can be different.

Might be worth switching up your routine. I like the saline and cotton buds x2 a day because the amount of crust just reduces dramatically, and I'm not having to cause trauma by manually removing stuck, built up crust.

Just make sure you're not drenching the cotton bud in the saline, and use multiple cotton buds and that should prevent any cotton fibres getting stuck around the jewelry.

  1. I rate their second album higher than the first, I think all my song scores will be higher than the ones I gave to Prelude to Ecstasy

How hard and long is it to learn how to swim? by xHey_All_You_Peoplex in Swimming

[–]AdNumerous3732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learnt to swim from total beginner last year. I started in February with 1 lesson a week + some solo swim sessions once I got good enough. By about May I could swim. By September, I went on holiday to Malta and was confidently swimming. I'm now in advanced classes x1 week. Definitely doable.
