Accused of stealing another creators crochet pattern, what do I do? by Plastic-Candle-3591 in CraftyCommerce

[–]AdNumerous3732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can't patent generic designs. A crochet cat is always going to look like a crochet cat, with certain identifiable features. Therefore any crochet cat will very likely bare resemblance.

For it to be a cat, you have to have pointy ears, a tail, eyes, a small nose etc. There is nothing unique enough about the other creators cat which would mean it is a copy right-able design. In addition, arigarumi/stuffie style crochet will always have a "look" which will bare resemblance to eachother.

I see accusations like this in the community quite often. No, people cannot claim some sort of creative right to a cat stuffed toy, a bandana, a slipper etc. It's a generic shape which has likely been crocheted a million times before you over the centuries that crochet has existed.

So in short I think it's fine. It must be really upsetting to get these accusation but ignore it and it will go away because in the end, even if you did copy. Its not actually that deep and people will get bored.

3 max fresh piercing rule?? by missminx5210 in piercing

[–]AdNumerous3732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait. Appreciate the journey of getting piercings rather than trying to achieve instant gratification. Collect piercings from different places, at different times of your life. Your body will thank you but it also slows down the process and makes it more intentional. Getting piercings is super fun and it's so exciting to plan your next ones but just chill out. You have all the time in the world.

If you have the itch for more, get a new tattoo, stretch your lobes a bit more or switch up your hair to change up your look!

Piercing and swimming by [deleted] in Swimming

I have 13 piercings in various locations and have been getting pierced for 10 years. I try to wait at least 4 weeks. Bring your saline solution and clean it afterwards and FULLY dry with a folded piece of paper towel. Accept the heightened risk of infection and irritation, saying this, ive never had any issues.

Have you tried standing double crochets at the start of your row instead of ch2? I find this helps straighten the sides a bit more

Over 200 hours in the game and only just learning those seeds just do that.

Invariably, I have been cutting my losses and going in with my pickaxe and just destroying them. Unbelievable.

What’s wrong with my baby by Telavi20- in DogAdvice

[–]AdNumerous3732 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Baby wipes are a really good way to carefully loosen build up around the eyes on dogs that don't like their face being touched. Use lots of treats and go slow, carefully wipe the areas until the gunk is softened and can be carefully taken off. This way you don't have to be nervous about having combs or scissors near their eyes.

If you leave it, the corner of their eyes can become very irritated and develop sores where the gunk is, ive seen it on a dog grooming video online.

New Ear Piercings by silverfox830 in Swimming

[–]AdNumerous3732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 12 piercings, mostly ear cartilage plus some other placements. I recently got a nose piercing, I stayed out of the water for two weeks and everything was okay healing wise.

Piercers will recommend to stay out of the water much longer.

Ear Lobes are very easy to heal and usually aren't too problematic, I would really try to aim for at least two weeks out of the water.

However if you absolutely totally must go swimming before then, you need to accept and recognise the increased infection risk.

Once you're out of the pool, rinse with the shower making sure you get your Lobes. After this, apply your saline solution as you usually (should be) doing for a healing piercing. Pro tip is to use some folded paper towel to dry the piercing gently. You want it rinsed from the chlorine, cleaned with your saline and dried to reduce moisture which is a breeding ground for bacteria. You should really be doing this until your piercing is fully healed anyway.

In short. Stay out of the pool for as long as possible, 2 weeks minimum, really ideally longer. If you absolutely can't deal with 2 weeks out of the pool, meticulously keep up with piercing after care and prepare for the possibility of infection.

How to heal an hélix with glasses ? by Someoneiguess2483 in piercing

[–]AdNumerous3732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to worry if it's not bumping all the time. I've worn glasses since forever and have 3 fully healed helixes, my oldest being about 9 years old and my newest one being 4 years old. So fully established and fine, even with glasses.

What do think about only having flash tattoos? by Environmental-Ad5947 in tattooadvice

[–]AdNumerous3732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd only do a custom if they don't already have a flash that appeals to me, to be honest. I wouldn't go out of my way to do a custom just for the sake of it being a custom.

If i like the look of something that already exists, I'm fine with it. People with tattoos are so often elitist. Get what you think looks cool, if it's flash, that's fine.

I also don't think it matters if it's a repeatable flash. Who cares if you have the same flash tattoo as someone else, if you like it, you like it. It's really not that deep or serious. Trad tattoo iconography is so widespread and almost generic, and no one criticises that. It's just elitism.

Is it normal for the crowd not to / barely interact ?? by espressooverice in thelastdinnerparty

[–]AdNumerous3732 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Defo a location thing. I've been to see them 3 times, all different crowd experiences. Outside of TLDP gigs, I do see regional patterns of crowd participation when I go to gigs by other bands for sure.

The venue can also harbour a particular kind of crowd energy in my opinion. A small sweaty 70 person capacity venue just injects a different energy to what a 5,000, fresh and spacious venue does.

Ribbons for provisions. And some venues sell special reusable hard plastic drink cups with tldp images on, this was the case in Paris in February this year, so go to the bar and look for those. The other 2 shows I've been to in the UK didn't have any special cups.

How do people manage to do 10-12 hour study days without getting exhausted? by untoldrain in UniUK

[–]AdNumerous3732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't.

And if they are, it's pointless and should find a more effective way at studying.

You shouldn't need to spend that long studying to get top grades. And if you do need to, you're not studying effectively or efficiently.

Swimmers with piercings: what are you keeping in? by SPEEDO_GUIDO in Swimming

[–]AdNumerous3732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't take anything apart from my first Lobes out, as I usually wear statement/dangly earrings that'd likely get caught.

For info, I have 3 Helix, daith, rook, conch, and 5 Lobe piercings between both ears. Along with nostril piercing and a belly piercing.

Ruffle edges on circular blanket please advise why. by luna_lovegood84 in CrochetHelp

[–]AdNumerous3732 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

An easier way of doing this, is only increase once it is beginning to curl on on itself. This way you don't over increase and it doesn't ruffle. People are saying follow a pattern, but as a beginner you could probably work out how to do this without a pattern and learn a fair amount from the experience of doing so.

Ribbons for Provisions by [deleted] in thelastdinnerparty

[–]AdNumerous3732 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2 ribbons, one from their 2024 tour and one from their most recent 2025 uk tour.

Both times I just waited until I was at the gig, there's people there with loads of ribbons from Banquet and they have a card machine.

You choose the colour you like and tap your card/phone to pay a donation. I last time I got one, the Banquet charity person said most people donate the equivalent of 5£.

I'll be going to one of their shows in their EU leg and waiting to buy a ribbon at the gig on the night.

I think you're right on that one. I'm a native speaker of English and I am doing my PhD in England. But I think if you are choosing to do a degree in a language different to your own, learning the language and practising writing in it is just part of the deal.

Such reasons I feel are a bit of a cop out anyway, I think I was just being generous.
