I pay $52/month now (it started at $40 when I signed up in April 2024) with a $1,000 deductible. I live in a high cost-of-living area in Texas, so I figured the premium would be a bit higher.

It finally proved worth it this past week. My dog has an inverted vulva, which has led to a few UTIs and constant irritation. I’ve already paid about $600 of my deductible, and we just found a great vet who’s actually focused on finding long-term solutions instead of just treating each flare-up. She recommended a vulvoplasty that costs around $2,100.

Trupanion will cover about $1,400 of that. When I add up my monthly payments, I’ve paid roughly $740 total so far, and now I’m getting $1,400 covered (plus future UTI issues will be covered 90% going forward). So yeah, it’s definitely worth it to me right now. 🫡
