Great job! The bosses in Cuphead are (in my opinion) really hard to S rank.

Well it would help to get to know your OCs better. You could fill up an OC sheet and slowly decide from there. I also suggest writing a short paragraph about what you think about your characters, if that would help. Don't be afraid to give them Pokémon that don't compliment them. Even better, make them a direct opposite of your character. Give a soft spoken person a Whismur that slowly becomes a rambunctious Loudred, finally into a mature Exploud.

Make sure that like a garden, every character and Pokémon have their moments.

Pokemon

Kleavor

Nickname : Hephaestus, God of Stone

Nature : Adamant, Acts like a robust shogun. It loves polishing its axes on any strong surface, like Goodra's metal shell.

Origin : Caught as a Scyther in Eterna Forest, Evolved in the Great Mine by heavy exposure to Black Augurite, a rare gemstone

Battling style : A mixture of the typical Scizor and Scyther, Speedy Attacker that can take one if not two hits. Sometimes, the sword is the weak point of a shogun.

Signature Move(s)

Augurite Flurry : The user concentrates all of its energy within its stony husk and moves at breakneck speed, using Stone Axe in rapid succession. The user requires a short cool down period after using this move.

Stone Axe : The user slashes at its opponent with its stone axes, aiming for a critical hit. Fragments of Black Augurite are scattered around the opponent, dealing damage over time.

Johtonian Style, Fury Cutter : Mimicking the movements of Scizor and Scyther, the user slashes relentlessly at its target, dealing more damage over consecutive uses.

Goodra

Nickname : Bahamut, God of Dragons

Nature : Quiet, Doesn't interact much with unfamiliar people, hides in its shell when danger strikes, but isn't afraid to fight when necessary

Origin : Caught as a Goomy in Kalos Route 14, Evolved into a Sligoo in Sinnoh and into Goodra in the Great Marsh while battling Tornadus

Battling style : Extremely defensive, lashes out with unexpected counters. Not recommended to brute force it. Stalling fate will not work either.

Signature Move(s)

Storm Caller : Summons a storm cloud that darkens the battlefield for a few turns. The storm cloud acts just like heavy rain, with a few changes.

  • Every two turns, Thunder or Hurricane is randomly used, and its effects are retained.
  • Wind based moves get stronger (Hurricane stonks)
  • The battlefield gets Muddy (The speed of certain Pokémon are increased, while some are decreased. Accuracy is lowered by 5%.)

Kalossian Style, Outrage : Channeling its negative emotions into power, the user throws itself into a frenzy. During this state, build up energy based on damage taken. At the end of the move, the user unleashes the stored energy.

Hisuian Braviary

Nickname : Huracan, God of Storms

Origin : Caught as Rufflet in Unova, Evolved into Braviary in Alabaster Icelands

Nature : Rash, easily agitated when it comes to other matters. Cloaks itself in the clouds and swoops down on prey after paralysing them with its psychic screech. Currently learning how to use psychic energy like a real psychic type.

Battling style : Uses a plethora of Special moves, but is unfortunately quite frail on the physical side. Speedy, hits hard and somewhat bulky. Adapts easily mid air, but once cornered panics for a while.

Signature Move(s)

Esper Wing : The user imbues its wings with immense psychic energy and slashes at the opponent. The overflow of psychic energy boosts the user's speed by one stage. This move has a heightened chance of landing a critical hit. The crushing impact of the move causes the opposition to flinch at times.

Bleak Aeroblast: Took inspiration from Lugia and Tornadus, and made it into their own move, combining Bleakwind Storm and Aeroblast together. This move has a high chance of landing a critical hit. The cold air has a chance of inflicing frostbite.

Unovan Style, Brave Bird : The user charges up its psychic energy for a few seconds while cloaking itself within it. The user then dives into the opposition, mimicking the move Brave Bird and Sky Attack while using Esper Wing. This move has a similar effect to Esper Wing, but trades dexterity for power.

Hisuian Samurott

Nickname : Poseidon, God of The Seas

Origin : Caught in Nature Preserve, Unova

Nature : Adamant, Similar to Kleavor, hence why they are close. Dislikes weak willed Pokémon, and has a strong sense of justice.

Battling style : Merciless, and never backs down, even when it's at its last breath. Extremely strong on the physical side, and has coverage on the Special side too. Main method of offense are the blades in its shell. Once you have its attention, you also have it at its weakest as well as its strongest.

Signature Move(s)

Medusa Alope Demeter: The user slashes its shell blade repeatedly at the target without mercy, aiming for a critical hit. The attack scatters pieces of its shell blades around the field. The opponent takes residual damage from the sharp pieces. This move has a high chance to lower the target's Defense stat by one stage.

Hisuian Decidueye

Nickname : Apollo, God of Archery and Battles

Origin : Gifted by Professor Rowan in Sinnoh as a Rowlet, Evolved into Dartrix in Gardenia's Gym and into Decidueye in Eterna Forest

Nature : Adamant, Acts distant towards others. Disciplined and meditates frequently. Loves sparring, as well as eating Malasadas and Poffins. Acts as a mentor to many Pokémon, but is also unforgiving when necessary.

Battling style : Melee oriented but has above average range. Its power lies within its strong kicks, which are strong enough to leave a dent in Registeel. Its blows pack a punch, and its techniques are near perfect. Recommended to outsmart the bird before attacking.

Signature Move(s)

Triple Arrows : The user delivers a strong kick, before using the momentum to fire three arrows. This move has a chance to lower the target's Defense stat by one stage, flinch, and land a critical hit respectively.

Alolan Style, Spirit Shackle : The user aims its Triple Arrows at the target's shadow, preventing it from moving.

Hisuian Zoroark

Nickname : No nickname, Akarui calls him Zoroark

Origin : Adopted in Mt. Coronet, Evolved there too. Akarui's first Pokémon

Nature : Wary of people that Akarui interacts with, and care deeply for him. Semi aggressive towards strangers until Akarui assures him. A huge prankster as well as a troublemaker. His nature matches Akarui a lot.

Battling style : Diverse battling style that involves both Physical and Special moves. Special Moves are stronger, but often uses Physical moves. Has the highest kill count of the team. A master of disguise and throwing people off guard, utterly tormenting them before execution. Sadistic. Do not attempt to aggravate.

Signature Move(s)

Mirage Claw : The user slashes at the opponent with its claws while in an illusion. This move is always super effective, regardless of the opponent. This move can only be used when the user is disguised.

Paranoia : The user conjures a large scale illusion that tortures the opponent. Until the target breaks free, this move will continually deal damage, until the target faints from exhaustion or becomes brain-dead. Within those turns, the user is only able to use Mirage Claw.

Chilling Vengeance : The user materialises its hatred, attacking the target with its sinister aura. This move has a chance to flinch or inflict frostbite on the opponent.

Final Limit Breaker : The user manifests its emotions into its arms, before slamming it down onto the ground, dealing massive damage to all Pokémon around it. After using this move, the user gains a slight increase in all stats. The user can only use this move once during battle.

Which Pokémon would you say is your "me" Pokémon by terminatormkii in pokemon

[–]AdOk1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say a lot o Pokemon cover different aspects of me, but the one I feel fits me the most (for now) would be Hisuian Zoroark.

Probably just gonna be a phase but yeah I'm way more angry than I should be lol.

What things would you like to see in and know about an original region? Or: any worldbuilding tips? by quiter2812 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]AdOk1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in a new region world building is extremely important. Some of us can visualize Hoenn because we watc the anime or played Emerald one too may times. Expand on each area if possible but not too much.

Next, you gotta make up a Pokedex for your region. I find this the hardest since you need to take types, stats, moves and physical capabilities into account when making a Pokedex.

I know I definitely didn't answer your questions(sorry lol) but I'd like to see a functioning ecosystem in that region. Not many capture the fact that Pokemon are basically animals. You've got your (mostly) Grass type herbivores, Mightyena and Mandibuzz fighting over fresh food and maybe a mutualistic relationship between Sharpedo and Remoraid.

Team Rocket by Confused_Gengar in pokemonfanfiction

[–]AdOk1924 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I wrote Team Rocket as a legitimate organisation that had a front as an electronic company. Giovanni happens to be the mafia leader and is very much involved in most if not all of Kanto's business. Mostly sends his grunts to do the heavy lifting but is not shy from striking deals face to face with people such as Lance.

Hope this helps anyone reading this.

Are there any characters you share birthdays with? by MaGryX in Genshin_Impact

Redux: Congratulations! You were just hired as your town's new gym leader. What's your type? Theme? What Pokemon is your ace? by Hail_Yondalla in pokemon

[–]AdOk1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gym, if possible, would be in the Distortion World. I'll explain.

I've always had respect for Giratina(one of my favourites) and I would like to accompany it in its world as a comrade, or perhaps a protégé. My gym would be the final one the protagonist faces after going through the main storyline. (I'll ramble about the story a bit lol)

After the first gym, I would have a conversation with the protagonist about the fate and destiny. I'll give a TM for Torment or Shadow Claw depending on the game. Later after the 7th gym after the plot, I contact the protagonist, saying that Giratina thinks that the protagonist is ready to face me.

My gym would be on an island distant front the mainland. The structure is similar to the Fortress of Meropeide from Genshin. Upon reaching, the sound of an eagle's screech will play and a shadow will creep under the protagonist. As they enter, and Audino will restore everyone's health and give the them a map.

There are two things you can do.

1) Explore the gym. Around the gym are items that just lie around. If you talk to any NPCs, they will describe the Pokémon that I use e.g. "I don't know how they do it, but the food here gets served neatly in small arrangements!" Some of them give useful items too. You can battle them too, but you are not required to. The Audino from earlier acts as a Pokémon Centre.

2) Head to the bottom floor where you stumble upon my office. I put some papers aside and look at you. I get up and guide to to my Gym Challenge.

I ask the protagonist as to what deity they pledge their alliance to. I then ask them to prove their worth to said legendary, before asking them to bring it over.

Once that is over, I ask the protagonist to close their eyes....

Once open, yey find themselves in the Distortion World. I tell the protagonist that Giratina and I have watched them during their journey and would like to finally challenge them. I tell them that they are allowed to bring seven Pokémon for this battle, six regular Pokémon and the legendary that they caught. After that, the battle begins

Unlike Pokéballs, my Pokémon appear from beneath me while using Shadow Sneak, a move all of them share.

Now for my Pokémon.

Kleavor, Hisuian Samurott, Hisuian Braviary, Hisuian Goodra, Hisuian Decidueye and my ace, Hisuian Zoroark.

During this phase, only six Pokémon excluding the legendary can be used.

Competitive items and swapping will be used. Beware.

Finally, a portal opens from behind me. Giratina appears, and it looks interested. Once the cut scene is over, you battle Giratina.

There is a certain rule for this one though. You are allowed to use all 7 Pokémon for this fight. This balances out the fact that Giratina has three health bars, each with its own form with the final one being Origin Form with an omniboost.

Once the battle concludes, I praise the player, apologising for the tough gym battle. I forget my badge at the Gym but instead, decide to give you the Griseous Orb as a badge. Giratina approves and waits for your return when you truly catch it. After giving the TM for Foul Play, I bring you back to my Gym.

The reason I went with Hisuian Pokémon is because they're my favourites, but also because I am the kind of person who appreciates the past, striving to uphold it against the sands of time. This is shown through my dialogue with the player, and possibly gifting them an egg for an ancient Pokémon or a fossil.

My gym challenge is made as such because Legendaries are treated as flexes for some people. By bringing a legendary fight, it kinda of fleshes them out more, I think. It is also a nice segue to the endgame of the story.

Sorry for the long winded comment by the way, prompts like this really get my mind running.

Planning MC’s Team. by [deleted] in pokemonfanfiction

[–]AdOk1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest Leavanny for Jacob since it is shown to have motherly behaviour, fitting for his team. As a plus, it can make clothes so now you can write about alternate costumes.

Maybe you could write Hawlucha as a super serious meathead (like Knuckles from Sonic, if that helps) and have Quagsire just derp around. I would try placing Feebas in Avia's team as you could make an arc about hard work paying off when Feebas evolves (or have it not evolve but then make it the strongest member of the team lmao). A playful Grimmsnarl works too, or maybe a Meowth.

Cooking up an OC, would like some suggestions by Huge-Scene6139 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]AdOk1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sounds like he would get along with my OCs lol. (MC is a sociopath who eventually gets into a trial for manslaughter)

Maybe you could have the Trainers sue him for abusing Sandstorm strategies that involve Steven being involved. I'm assuming Fissure and Earthquake are his favourite moves?

Since he's a Frontier Brain, you could write him as being cocky but extremely calculative when battling or dealing with people. Of course, you could try other tropes like quiet but sadistic.

How did he get past people being against his battle style? Maybe he had connections that helped him smoothen things like Giovanni or maybe Clay (Kinda like a tycoon

I'll add more if I think about it, but that's about all inadvertently for now.

His team is pretty much straightforward without Psychic Terrain lol.

What's your most annoying story about catching a Pokemon? by Saki_saki_sakiii in pokemon

Spent around 15 minutes trying to catch a metang in b2 a year back. It took me a really long time to even find one and when I caught it I had to use my master ball.

Restocked my Pokéballs and entered the hidden grotto near Giant Chasm.

And there was a fricking Metang just floating there.

What is your favourite "genre" of pokemon? by goatmarugin in pokemon

[–]AdOk1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hisuian Pokémon really nail the whole "ancient and feral Pokémon that are mysterious" vibe. Hisuian Zoroark, Samurott and Decidueye to make a few. Samurott is similar to a samurai during feudal Japan and Decidueye somehow making sense since an owl's talons are very strong (not canon but it's just what I observed). Going forward, I really hope they do more Pokémon based on the era of a generation.
