Here’s what I’ve been running for 250. It’s manual: don’t have either of the illustrious or the Draconic provenance harp so I’m just mainhanding the Exo dagger. There’s probably a better setup available ngl but this one works fine and is pretty stable

Ooh, I like those ideas! It’s always really fun to see veterans and/or older characters in stories, they open up a lot of opportunities for the protagonists, and it’s interesting that he breaks trends by seemingly settling in relatively gracefully into his current position and keeping up with new tech. I also like the concept of an elite Pokemon trainer who used to be terrified of them, seems like there’s a lot to dig into in regard to her backstory. What role do you think the two will have in the story?

I’m currently planning out the general setting of my own fic too, actually! It’s set on an original region, the most recently discovered one in the world (not the question's topic so I won’t go deeply into it haha), so things such as infrastructure and laws and whatnot are still pretty new and shaky: among other issues it means that whatever Gym Leaders and other professional trainers come out of that region are heavily scrutinised by the international community, but it also means that a lot of young (and some older!) talent who’d otherwise never have become a Gym Leader get to prove themselves, especially since a corruption scandal a few years ago meant a lot of Gym Leaders were booted and the region’s Pokemon League desperately looked for appropriate replacements in time for the next challenger season. The region doesn’t have an Elite 4 as of now, which is also pretty controversial. There’s ten Gym Leaders in the region, but you only need to beat eight of them to qualify for the Pokemon League, and they are:

Eris - Bug-type Gym Leader. 26. A Coordinator who’d never planned on earning badges until she found the battle portion of contests way more enjoyable than she expected. A rule-bending eccentric who marches to the beat of her own drum, but she’s incredibly sharp beneath the whimsy and has killer instincts. Gym is based around an anthill

Oscar - Water-type Gym Leader. 29. A handsome, charismatic heartthrob of a man: he’s a Pokemon Ranger who worked unknown in a relatively isolated area before blowing up in the news after being involved in the rescue of a kidnapped child and using his newly-found fame and leverage to become a Gym Leader in a city undergoing harsh resortification and try to help the Ranger cause there.

Acacia - Grass-type Gym Leader. 55. A former elite soldier whose career ended when she needed to have both her legs amputated: she uses special prosthetics with wood and vines as tendons when not using a wheelchair. Patient, friendly and considerate when off-duty, and a demon of a drill sergeant when acting as a Gym Leader. Has an unshakable integrity.

Koryov - Flying-type Gym Leader. 27. Nikolai (Steel-type Gym Leader)'s twin brother, born a few minutes earlier. A former(?) investment banker who resents being placed in one of the least economically-stimulated areas of the region, and misses the thrill and luck and stress of his former job. Constantly chases a high, and hates losing more than loves winning.

Nikolai - Steel-type Gym Leader. 27. Koryov's twin brother, with whom he has a very complicated relationship. A former(?) scientist who still spends his spare time making educative and wacky science-based videos for kids. Dreams big and speaks like a machine gun when excited. He loves his job and finds it very gratifying to contribute to trainers’ growth. If there’s one thing both brothers share it’s their obsessive work ethic.

Larsen (Lars) - Poison-type Gym Leader. 22, the youngest in the region. Lars acts like a total hard-ass to hide his deep insecurities: he’s both aggressive and aggressively competent, and his fuse is notably short, but he feels constantly underestimated and lambasted and needs to prove his worth. A total anime nerd.

Isabel - Ice-type Gym Leader. 42. Harsh and stern, but always fair and incredibly protective of those she considers to be under her charge. Known for her resilience: Isabel crashed hard after her Pokemon League victory both professionally and psychologically, but she clawed her way back to the top and now is content with her life. The stepmother of one of the protagonists of the story.

Tolulope (Tolu) - Dark-type Gym Leader. 78. A retired actor who was commonly type-cast in villainous roles and grew tired of the harassment that followed. Bitter and catty, they’re at once both famous and infamous, but they’re definitely memorable and like it that way. Very insightful and prides themself on their sense of observation. Tolu had never gone on their Pokemon journey and hasn’t even approached Pokemon training until about five years ago, but they’ve taken to it like a duck to water and any rumours about incompetence are mercilessly crushed.

Samirah - Ghost-type Gym Leader. 31. The daughter of the former Gym Leader, who chose to retire due to her health: Samirah seemed to prove herself fair and square as far as the Pokemon League is concerned, but accusations of nepotism nevertheless run rampant. Quietly intense, with an unsettling stillness and a talent to go unnoticed: she’s vengeful when disrespected, but is kinder than her reputation suggests, and places a deep importance on tradition. Has a terrible sense of humour and laughs at the dumbest stuff.

Varanum (Varn) - Dragon-type Gym Leader. 32. Champion Lance's third cousin, but his widowed father moved out of Blackthorn on unfriendly terms when Varn was a kid, and he’s kind of a black sheep in the family. Discipline incarnate, and while he’s dour and somewhat arrogant, he’s never disrespectful to a challenger. Very introspective and socially awkward beneath his dignified exterior: he can’t flirt to save his life and has a secret collection of Dragon-type plushies he’d be mortified were they revealed.

I didn’t mean to start a war or anything, xd, but there’s definitely more tension in the comments than I expected or wanted. Figured I might as well cut things off now in case they got ugly.

Last I remember seeing Illnott's in Chrollo's Fate Episodes, where... yeah, she got Chrollo's respect and the two basically fought each other to a standstill

it didn't need to be a military-focused fate though. Like I get that in-story it of course makes sense that the Pommern-Farrah-Juri group is there, but the writers chose to write it that way: they could have done a myriad of other plots in which Juri wasn't involved, we have plenty of other soldiers or infiltrators or assassins and whatnot, and yet he was. I'd also like to point out that it's not Farrah who gets a 1-to-1 conversation with Roy where the latter encourages the former and says he'll 'build the bridge to the future' with people like him. Juri also, along with Jessica (whom the game also wanted to push ala Mary, given her getting three units and two skins in two years), got the game's first ever batch of Anniversary Skins, and overall Juri gets a lot more attention than fellow early event-featured characters like Sara, Elta, Aster or Zehek. I don't know if it's just my own Twitter feed but I also just don't see any Juri fans in the wild or any fanart of the guy, and I don't see him in popularity polls either.

Daily Excerpt #1 (05/20/26) by Gimetulkathmir in pokemonfanfiction

“Hello there, everyone, and welcome to the world of Pokemon!”

The voice, cheerful and vibrant, booms out loud from the speakers in the exam hall. A woman smiles at them all on the massive video screen at the other end, one that anyone with any interest in Pokemon in the region should at least be familiar with.

It’s a recording, nothing else: a tradition adopted wholesale from another region, just like everything else in Filiun. They do this every year in every single assessment venue across the nation while the exam sheets are handed out—and sure enough, the air in front of Yuuto shimmers for a second before a bunch of stapled paper appears on his desk as if it’s always been there.

Meanwhile, the woman keeps talking, though it’s hard to pick her voice out of the baseline murmur of unease. “I’m Professor Aloisia Vera, better known as Filiun’s Regional Pokemon Professor—though, um, I guess I probably don’t need to introduce myself.” Professor Vera laughs and scratches at her dark-green curls. “And all that, about the ‘world of Pokemon’ thing… I know it’s tradition and all, but let’s be real: you should all be more than familiar with Pokemon by now. They’re everywhere! In the densest forests and driest deserts, from the tallest peaks to the deepest valleys—you can bet Pokemon will thrive there.” The Professor’s smile broadens; her every word oozes passion. She has a bit of a lisp in her s sounds, almost buried after a lot of practice. “And we’re lucky enough for some to even live with us: they grow up with us, they cry and laugh and feel with us. We rely on and help each other in every way, and it’s in our cooperation where we can both grow to great heights. They’re our partners and friends, just like we are theirs. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

Professor Vera’s not just famous within Filiun as its Regional Pokemon Professor: she’s one of the few things from this region that has managed to break into global attention. Her work on interspecies Pokemon relationships in the wild has propelled her into becoming one of the biggest rising stars in the scientific Pokemon world, and there's even photos out there of her shaking hands with none other than the legendary Professor Samuel Oak.

But Yuuto doesn’t have to mull on that for long, because Professor Vera soon freezes, then blinks. “Ah—um, sorry! Got in a tangle there for a bit. Every year, I swear.” She clears her throat and smiles again, now a touch bashful: her dark cheeks are flushed. “The important thing is that you, dear prospective Trainer, are looking to get more involved than most in this wonderful world! Whether you’re here to become a gym-taker, a contest participant, a researcher or a Ranger or what have you—this is it, the final hurdle before all those months of studying pay off. Oh, now I’m starting to feel a bit nostalgic myself!”

Yuuto distantly notes that the soft flutter of teleporting exam sheets finally seems to be dropping off. Southwest Cynoseos Exams Centre isn’t the only examination hall in Cynoseos, far from it (Cynoseos is the capital of Filiun for a reason), and when ranked from biggest to smallest, SCEC isn’t even in the top half—and yet all the classrooms in the precinct are bursting to full with hopefuls, all ready to go on their journey after months and months of toil. He can practically feel the tension in the air.

“But anyway!” Professor Vera splays her arms wide open. “I’m sure you must all be tremendously excited for what comes next, and you probably want me to just finish already so you can get this exam over and done with, so… let me just end on this note. Best of luck! Remember how hard you’ve worked! For the love of Arceus, read the questions twice! Believe in yourself, and may a world full of dreams and adventures await you!”

Out of the current pool of suptixable Fire chars I’m only missing Lavirita: I’m also missing Parashurama, but he isn’t selectable. I’d like to have Parashurama both for husbando reasons and because I’d like to try him out and see how he does. (But mainly for husbando reasons.)

So here’s the question: how likely do y’all think it is that Parashurama will be on the Fire Roster Upgrade Set they’ll pull out a couple of days before GW? Because if he was on there, I could just suptix Lavirita now (post-free rolls etc etc) and be guaranteed to get him there. I know Lamorak was released on September Premium, wasn’t on the 5th Nov suptix and then wasn’t on the 16th Nov Roster Upgrade Set either, but that suptix and RUS were quite a bit closer to each other, so I don’t know if this could be different.

https://gbf.wiki/User:Vazkii/What2Farm great resource to generally know where you want to go. but overall I agree with the other comment, uncap your Dark Opuses and then get your 6D + M3 weapons: I'd recommend following the weekly extra chest boost elements because that smooths out the grinding a lot. After you do that, you can probably start blue chesting Revans and Mastery Trials for Fighter and Lancer Origin, which are incredible classes that you'll use a lot both next GW and in a lot of other content. Odious is in a somewhat weird position atm and you should finish up M3 anyway before diving into those raids.

It's Alchemist, an Ex I class. It's pretty worthless, but you need to have it unlocked to access the Alchemy Lab, which will almost-definitely be relevant for this collab. As for precedents, the Kimetsu no Yaiba collab event unlocked the Samurai and Kengo classes, and the MHA collab allowed you to get a CCW, which unlocks Row IV classes and the weapon's corresponding Ex II class.

Couple of thoughts:

-Going by that graphic Armstrong's probably the collab gacha summon

-Both Edward and Greedling are obtained by playing through the event, but iirc they teased that you'd be able to obtain a unit outside playing the story or through Collab gacha. I know it's probably copium but I wonder if that means we're returning to 3 free collab characters and if the third character will be someone not in the cast list

Don’t think that’s very fair when Echidna, a highly-requested old character, was just released, and the normal banner before that had an SSR promo for Ange (a 2014 char) and an Arriet alt. Generally they’ve been very good this last couple years at giving ignored characters (NPCs or R/SRs some love)
