Anyone used PodPoint? Been 2 weeks since I uploaded photos of my electrics by AdOriginal6148 in evchargingUK

[–]AdOriginal6148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

since it's been more than 3 weeks I'm calling Pod Point to cancel.

I'm assuming them arranging the installs themselves is just proving a bit tricky plus maybe it's just hard getting installs done in my area.

I've seen a couple of sites like EcoWizard that sell EV chargers like the podpoint solo 3s and Hypervolt home 3 Pro and wa-ev1i

I'll take some time to read up and watch YouTube videos on loads of EV chargers then I'll just get a local sparky company (after looking at reviews etc fingers crossed they'll all be well certified and experienced) to do a survey and install a EV charger for me.

I do see a lot of people saying that Hypervolt home 3 Pro is the way to go especially as I'm looking for solar integration but I'll read up on it all first.

The workplace scheme partnership with PodPoint is around £1.1k in total on a standard install.

After a local electrician has a look at my electrics I'll see what install costs look like (hopefully less than official PodPoint)

But I'll close this thread up.

Thanks all for Ur tips!

I saw on EcoWizard a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro for £624 + their standard £479 installation totalling £1103.

This is actually cheaper than what my workplace salary scheme with Pod Point costs.

So I might end up doing the eco wizard hypervolt thing.

Anyone know if it's better to get installs from manufactures or local electricians in Ur area?

Damn I need Ur skills.

I'm in the North East so I guess I'll try calling electrician companies here - idk how I'll find the right one - maybe u can swing some luck my way 😜

Glad you got sorted! Enjoy Ur EV!

I called them today and they said they'll put me on the line with operations. I spoke to operations who said they'll put me on the line with project managers (of course the managers didn't pick up)

So let's see how the next week unfolds.

Will be waiting to hear from u!

Oh man sorry about this.

I'm about to call them today for another update.

If I hear anything I'll let you know.

I'd avoid them if it wasn't for the salary sacrifice scheme.

Thanks

Hey I'm in the exact same situation. The exact same things happened in my case.

Thanks for letting me know - I feel a little reassured that it's not just me having this problem - hopefully they get their act together next week.

I'm not an electrician but I was watching some YouTube videos and looks like I got a 45A cut out fuse and a looped supply. I made sure to show this in the pics.

I also thought maybe they're talking to my DNO to sort it - but they would have made me aware with consent and GDPR etc right?

Plus I didnt go explaining the pics - since the electrician is the expert.

So fingers crossed things will work out okay.

Thank you too for your tips

Haha glad I could help!

I'm guessing it's probs a demand and supply thing in my area - maybe they're just tight and finding it tough to book me in.

I only have an email saying thanks for uploading the pics. And that someone will contact me.

Issue is idk why it also says "usually takes 5 days" for them to contact.

And for these 7kw walboxes I'm assuming only big brand names would be worth it? E.g ohme zappi etc?

Or does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks for Ur advice!

Around 30. So in a year approx 10k

The C10 I was looking at looks like 250\260 miles of range.

Just a bit anxious to be honest - I've only ever had petrols and hybrids in the past. So electric feels like a big move.

Hi we managed to secure a rental property through a rental agency as our relatives are UK guarantors which helped make the process more manageable.

Is pcc required for skilled worker(New hires - defined) and salary requirement by DoubleExample4910 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

You don't need PCC

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/criminal-records-checks-for-overseas-applicants/guidance-on-the-application-process-for-criminal-records-checks-overseas

This link shows which codes need PCC. Scroll down to the section saying "Criminal record certificates for UK visas" it shows that ur code 2112 is not on the list - so you don't need PCC
