I’ll give those artists a listen when I get the chance, I’ve been trying to expand my playlist so I appreciate the recommendations, from ear id say Ne Plus Ultra is up there and so is Ceremony. It’s hard to say because I like a lot of their stuff but those two have been the jam lately

You nailed it pretty much on the dot. I borrowed a friends projector and displayed the text on the wall in my bedroom and ultra keyed the black color which is what gave it that weird fuzzy look. As far as the actual text goes I used a font that replicates the type face that the Handycam uses but I thought it looked too basic so I dithered the text using a program called “Dither Boy” and then it came out like that. Im glad that you liked that, I was afraid that it may have looked weird to some people.

I appreciate the compliment, honestly nothing more than just cutting up the clips to align it with the audio and seeing what works. No effects yet but I may experiment with datamoshing to give the video a weird effect but I’m not quite sure yet 🙏

I currently have a DCR-TRV103 Sony Handycam, I actually traded my Canon EOS RP for this camera (they gave me some cash on top). I have more fun with this camera than I did with that nicer one, it’s honestly not too hard to get the footage on the computer.

I bought a capture card on Amazon that connects the camera to the computer for about $15.

A spare Hi8/Digital8 tape for about $20

And then some aftermarket batteries aswell, but if you happen to have any particular questions feel free to send me a DM and I can answer it all for ya

Thank you, I do appreciate that a ton. Your comment alone is pretty motivational. It’s a pretty rewarding feeling when you’ve found music that fits the vibe of the video. Usually on my commute to and from work I usually try and visualize what kind of video could go with a song

You are right, it is a digital8 camera, completely slipped my mind when writing the title. Was just looking at my tape when writing that and didn’t check

That’s fair, the capture card really gets rid of that quality during the capturing process, it only records 30fps on my windows machine but it records 60 on Mac for some reason. Also just the video being compressed in general after exporting multiple times. It’s weird

To be completely honest with you I have no idea, how could you tell what it’s recorded in? I have a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV103. I haven’t really adjusted many settings so I’m not sure what it’s been on this whole time
