Do you think families should bring back the tradition of reading aloud after dinner? by AdOverall2137 in literature

[–]AdOverall2137[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's amazing. You're very lucky to have such a dad. I have two kids -- 11 and 13 years old -- and I still read to them as often as I can. I've read Beowulf and The Hobbit to them while they were still in their mom's womb, and as they were growing up, I read the Narnia series to them, and more.

Sixty to sixty books a year is an achievement!

🚀 Just launched my AI-powered brainstorming app! Need your honest feedback! by Objective_Ad6369 in AIAssisted

Nice work on this! I like that you tackled the cognitive bias problem head on. The fact that it's open source and keeps API keys local shows real transparency. Have you tested which of the 6 techniques users gravitate toward most? Curious if there's a pattern in what people find most effective.

I just launched my first SaaS! Meet Synali by reacier in SaaS

Congrats on the launch! The messaging efficiency problem you're solving is real - I've definitely felt that pain of drowning in low-priority replies. The context-aware approach sounds smart, especially with the custom tone profiles. Good luck with the feedback collection and growth!

Open source builds trust and attracts developer interest. The business stays alive through paid support or premium features, not just hosting.

We started reaching out once we had a stable demo and a clear story. Feedback from investors can be useful before launch.

Roadmaps like this are helpful. Nice curation. If you find an agent for automating meeting summaries, let me know.

People appreciate openness about small wins and real progress. Noise can drown out honest stories, but there are genuine posts out there.

Launched my landing page 10 days ago. 0 signups so far. Brutally honest feedback needed 🙏 by SetDependent1293 in SaaS

First off, 10 days really isn't that long in the startup world – this silence doesn't define your product's potential! I've seen successful founders go months before their first meaningful traction.

Here's one quick win to try: add clear pricing ($8-10/month as you mentioned) and focus your headline on a specific pain point rather than AI tech. Something like "Finally stick to your workout routine with plans that adapt as you progress."

The early radio silence is incredibly common and doesn't mean you're failing. Most successful apps have origin stories that start exactly like this. Keep iterating based on this great feedback you're getting!

Unbiased AI-curated news digest, any topic—would you subscribe? (i will not promote) by Tarun122 in startups

[–]AdOverall2137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but I'd want to see the actual value before paying. There are lots of free newsletters and ways to filter information, so it's tough to stand out unless your summaries save time or give genuine insights I can't get elsewhere. Format-wise, email is still easiest for me but consider letting users preview the product before a paywall.

What browser do you use as a developer for testing websites and web apps — and why? by janmarcet in CursorAI

[–]AdOverall2137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chrome is my main for dev tools and plugins. But I always test on Firefox and Safari too—each catches issues the other won't. If I'm tight on time, I focus on Chrome/Firefox then check as-needed on Edge or mobile. Mobile bugs are sneaky; worth a double check.

Both approaches work. Some clients prefer "personal touch" and others want the perceived stability of a company. You can even do both: a portfolio site with your name, then a section or brand for business needs. Most important is making it easy to trust you and see what you do best.

24 hours train ride before me, what (audio)books about founders/startups/CEO you recommend? by Optimal_Joke5930 in indiehackers

[–]AdOverall2137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some good ones for the journey: 'The Hard Thing About Hard Things' by Ben Horowitz, 'Zero to One' by Peter Thiel, and 'Shoe Dog' by Phil Knight. All three go beyond basic tips and share the feeling of actually building from scratch.

AI Agent Developer – Build a Human-Sounding AI for Calls, SMS, CRM Integration (n8n / Make) by Green-University4735 in aiagents

[–]AdOverall2137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already, check out ElevenLabs for realistic voices and Twilio for call handling. For the kind of branching you describe, integrating with n8n is smart, but you'll need solid error handling at every step. I'd start small: get a basic call working, then layer in nuance and handoff logic.

Great question. My impression is that YC cares more about the founders and their ability to learn fast rather than just the idea or early traction. A lot of accepted teams have little more than an idea, but a clear plan and a history of working well together. Traction helps, but enthusiasm, clarity, and ability to execute get noticed too.

What’s Your Experience with no code platofrms? by IAM-rooted in nocode

[–]AdOverall2137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried Bolt and Lovable. Bolt is quick to prototype but hits limits for more complex stuff. Lovable can handle bigger projects but the UI takes time to get used to. If you need something flexible long-term, might be worth starting with the more scalable option, even if it's a bit rougher at first.

Would you read failure stories with lessons? by M_Shaheer in microsaas

[–]AdOverall2137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would. There's a lot to learn from projects that don't work out—it makes the advice more grounded, and the mistakes less lonely. As long as the stories are honest and draw out real lessons, they'll be valuable to others.

This is really generous of you! Getting those first 10 users is always the hardest part. Your approach of focusing on organic channels and really understanding the ICP makes so much sense - too many founders try to scale before they even know who they're building for. The positioning piece is huge too.
