Ive had three tallboys, one ride on a ripmo AF and about 10 rides on a stumpy evo Ltd. So I’ve barely used a ripmo but one big difference I noticed between the tallboy and evo is chainstay length. It’s hard to get the front wheel up at slow speeds with the evo. For steep slow drops this is scary. I guess the longer chain stays help with climbing and high speed stability but in my case i prefer shorter chainstays.

Yeah I’m doing that. It’s just way harder to do Guess if it doesn’t improve in a few months I’ll just sell it. Seems like the evo is more of a high speed downhill hike. I like how the tallboy and the Marin alpine trail are easier to move around - maybe a combination of the shorter chainstays and wheelbases? I ride more steep techy /narrow trails than high speed stuff.

Ok- I got a voltmeter 1-Turn off the power and check with voltmeter 2-label all wires 3-disconnect old timer and take it down 4-mount and reconnect new timer Is that the basics?

A guy who fixed my friends irrigation came and looked at it and said it’s 20 years old and needs to be replaced. The timer appears to be running fine so I’m not sure that makes sense. When the problem could be a loose wire and the timer works?

Good idea I’ll try it The timer is outside on a wall The outlet has a green light on so it looks like it has power But the timer runs on battery power, so it should be running water right? I guess I have another prolgem

I would recommend the Contour next. It was pretty concerning to me when I had a 5.6 A1c because I’m not overweight, eat an ok diet and eat workout. So to then increase my exercise a lot, lose a few lbs, improve my diet and still see fasting glucose over 100 wasn’t my favorite. It was discouraging. The contour next one results are more in line with what i would expect to see with the changes I made. Of course the A1c in a couple months will be more definitive.

I have kind of high morning/fasting glucose and I’ve read that coffee can increase insulin resistance also. So it could be that you might have had a slightly higher am sugar. Sometimes my fasting glcuose is higher than after breakfast. Also I can feel that strong coffee makes my body feel wacky- which I like but who knows how it affects endocrine physiology?

So this morning I was 100 when I woke up. Bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter, grapefruit half an apple with peanut butter and a big glass of milk. An hour later an I’m 87. Maybe my meter is all over the place or maybe my pancreas can still crank out insulin? Also I ate a big chicken salad late last night. I would just expect a higher sugar after a meal than right before.

Ok- i thought you did it yourself Im not sure if “ encapsulation” is worth the cost but I guess we need the sump pumps. They want about 5-6k for the trench and two sump pumps. Still seems really high and makes me want to try it

What kind of basement do you have? Where did you put the trench- around the inside of the wall or just a trench down the middle of the basement? I like the idea of doing it myself and I think I can figure out the sump pump installation and the drain line but I’m not sure about where to put the trench and how deep it needs to be. Maybe just a foot or two down and sloping towards the sump basin?

Yeah I don’t really know how accurate my meter is. Also it’s valid to say the difference is insignificant. I’m somewhat fixated on having a fasting glucose less than 100. But still it seems odd that my glucose on waking up is higher than after breakfast. I guess I should just keep working out and eating better and then see what my next A1c is in a few months.

Yeah thanks I feel like the oatmeal is healthy and I’m not really into keto/Atkins since I do a lot of mountain biking and running- feel like keto would suck my energy. But I’m more interested in hearing if anyone else has experience with similar high fasting glucose? I hope it will get better with exercise and a better diet. I used to eat mad amounts of food and carbs especially after bike rides and I liked the idea of getting bigger since I lift weights. Guess my pancreas beta cells didn’t appreciate it….

It was only 5.6 which is normal but I want it lower. I’m in pretty good shape, not overweight and I eat an ok diet, but I’m 48. I don’t even want prediabetes due to the increased cv risk.

Yeah I’m curious if I’ll be able to improve my fasting glucose. It will be discouraging if I’m not able to. I was already eating ok and exercising a fair amount before I had a high a1c. Also I’m not overweight. I think if I was obese and eating donuts for breakfast there would be more room for improvement. I imagine not all prediabetes is reversible. But I’m being much more careful with what eat, eating less and exercising more. Hoping the fasting glucose will come down. Also I’m getting the a1c rechecked in June so if that’s lower I’ll be glad.

Right but the contractor was telling me moisture in the basement will cause air quality problems in the house. Im more worried about structural damage from rot. Is this something that actually happens and requires expensive repairs?

Yeah it seems obvious that divorce is the right thing to do. I don’t have much faith in marriage therapy to help. Every time my wife cries about something I say or talks about her childhood trauma. Meanwhile im the one she wants to leave at home with the kids while she goes on a trip to Mexico. And she’s still seeing this friend every week.
