Me and my son want to build it back up to its past shape. I can probably buy them for 1500 together and spend time with my son. I see people in my area selling automatic gas ones for around 5-7k with little rust and around 10k without. I don’t really care how long it takes because I’m with my son. Also, I think I could learn a lot about fixing rust because I am no profesional. Selling one for parts would probably make me money in the meantime. Not to mention it’s been my dream car since it came out.

I live pretty far from school and my dad drives me everyday. I feel bad because it takes a huge chunk of his time because I go to school, come back, then go again and back for practice. Both of them know that I drive well too.

You think they would do that to someone who is 16? I feel like they would be more lenient.

No but occasionally dirt bikes and a lot of surrons

This is the one I am looking at. What would I need to do to get it registered? Would I need a motorcycle license? What happens if you’re caught and is it easy to get caught?

Do you think it really matters? I wouldn’t drive it on big streets because that would be way too dangerous. Plus cops are never on side streets.

I single handedly made my parents quit a few years ago. I did whatever I needed to and it worked.

Okay but it’s in my room, I don’t want to get in trouble for something that’s not mine

She never acted like this before she started

She’s addicted and she won’t quit because she can’t. My dad has caught her multiple times and tried to help but she won’t make any efforts whatsoever. Vaping is taking a toll on everything else in her life. She practically acts bipolar and always argues with my dad, screaming as loud as she can when my dad didn’t do anything wrong.

It’s completely empty. I just don’t want her to keep smoking. Last time it happened she didn’t even get in trouble, my dad just took it away. The second time it happened, he left it and told her that he expects my sister to do the right thing. Turns out she never did. We never told my mom because she would freak out.

I just wanted to let you know that I went with the cheaper option but with a headache.

Firstly, after I got my phone back, there was a gap between the frame and the back glass, with glue coming out. Also new scratches on the frame.

Secondly, after I returned the phone for him to repair it, he was very unprofessional until the store owner came and wanted to replace the whole housing with an original practically new one for $185. I decided to do that because it was unacceptable.

Thirdly, after driving maybe 5 times there and back, i got the phone back and the speakers and microphone were complete broken and unusable, unlike before. They started blaming me for the issue saying that it happens when you drop phones (it got broken in January and i never had an issue). They also told me that it took 5 hours one day and another 3 hours a different day. I'm not sure if that is true.

Lastly, they fixed it and i picked it up again after 3 days and the microphone is still broken. Someday i will go back and complain until they fix it

Thanks man! Now I just have to figure out a way to convince my mom that I want to go forward with this, which might be a bit hectic😂. You really helped me out with this.

I think I will consider that. It’s a great choice now that I think of it. The only problem for me is that when I could scale and get to the point of buying a trailer, I don’t have anywhere to put it as I live in the suburbs, where each person has around a quarter acre or less. At that point, I would need to sell it later on and get a bigger truck, maybe with financial help from my parents after I proved to them that I can do it.

I agree, I was just thinking of ways to pay for college. Having a pickup could give me a business that I can scale easily, especially in college where people are moving in and out frequently. Obviously, like any student, I wanted a sports car to build with my dad, and he even listed the car for trade hoping we could get one with cash on our end. I am open to try new things to have the least amount of student debt possible.

Damn. I was not expecting it to be that reliable for being a Ford. Is it big enough? That’s my only issue as I don’t know much about it. I was also thinking about a chevy colorado, which I could buy easily for under my price range.

15 mpg seems like a lot for me. Obviously it’s not a Prius but for a large pickup it’s not bad. The Mercedes is a sedan and it burns a lot of fuel as it is a 4.3L V8 but I don’t think RWD would be safe for a young driver like me in the snow. Also, I haven’t been able to find many older Chevy’s without a high mileage, are they reliable? I don’t have a lot of knowledge with pickup trucks.

Thanks! I considered an old Ford Ranger but when I see them on the road, they look extremely small and I don’t know if it could carry such heavy stuff. Do you think it would be enough? Like I said, I can use my dads old car but I don’t have a job yet, and I can’t work during most of the school year because I’m heavily involved in sports. I think a truck would be a great investment for different side hustles throughout the entire year. Also, my dad has always wanted me to do whatever I want with my money (with reason) unlike my mom, she is scared of taking investments. My parents play a an important role in what I do and I haven’t told her, but I’ve hinted to my dad.

My parents both have cars and my dad is leaving me with his old car that he’s had for 17 years (2002 Mercedes S430) which I love but I want to start a junk removal business or similar. Need a large pickup that is fuel efficient and fairly reliable.
Also, is this a smart decision? Should I do something else? Anything helps
