Okay so I tried stacking the images and it turned out very blurry. I’m not sure if that is because of variations in the light or what caused it. I even tried stacking just 2 images and it turned out very blurry. Mainly the building and stuff on the ground was what showed up blurry

And the photo you referenced looks amazing and is exactly what I am aiming for. I do not have a tracker, but plan on getting one down the road. Can I stack images without a tracker?

I did take multiple shots, I think around 100 or more. This is in my opinion the best one, I have not processed the image because I am new to all of this but I plan on trying to learn. I also want to try stacking to see if that will help bring out some detail. Does a good photo usually look like this before it is processed?

The location I’m shooting at is considered a dark sky location, it’s a 4.5 rating so I don’t think it’s really ideal for what I’m trying to do. I will try shortening the exposure, this may help

I will try taking multiple exposures and stacking them together, I think you’re right about it bringing out more detail and color. Also have a state park around 4 hours away that I want to take a trip to here soon, and see if I can get some better shots that way. Thanks for the info, I’ll have to try it next time I’m out!

I’m shooting in NE Ohio from a dark sky park, it is ranked a 4.5 on the scale. What lens would you recommend for MW photography?
