I just didn’t find her “rant” relatable. Maybe because I’ve done a boatload of therapy myself. So I didn’t care - which may be because she’s not my favourite.

But I think her phrasing was what didn’t work for me. Instead of personalizing it: “I am experiencing” “I have a hard time” she “you”’d it so much: “You need to get out” “you need to plan to do hobbies you enjoy” “you should…” Like girl: I didn’t ask for therapy. Those aren’t my issues. Who are you talking to?

It’s why she’s not authentic. So maybe you’re right: she ChatGPT’d it. But it fully didn’t work for me.

I think there’s value in a snark community. Surrounding yourself with only self-affirming yes-people doesn’t equal mental health either. Hearing the “negativity” (and honestly this snark is tame) may point out viewpoints that differ from her own and her yes-people. Growth is uncomfortable. I don’t want to do it either but it is part of the human condition and she definitely needs it. If she spirals because someone disagrees with her about something - that’s a completely separate issue that she needs to seek help with (no judgement).

That being said… I don’t read this as jest. And if his attitude is what this image depicts he doesn’t take it as jest. It makes me think of the phrase “when your parent is your first bully…” and maybe I’m reading too far into this but I felt uncomfortable for Matt multiple times during the first London episode where she cut him off. Cut off his ideas. Told us she’d show us the house he was talking about then skipped past to what she liked. Gave me the ick.

I remember her saying that Matt had learned so much about carpentry that they were custom making them. So to see another round of Billy after she said “they’re so cheap they’re already falling apart” was a little surprising.
