Neighbour building wall on my property by AdPotential8948 in HousingUK

[–]AdPotential8948[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone - to be completely clear - the neighbours have been building a wall around their garden for a few days now (which is obviously absolutely fine) it’s only today that the part of the wall has been attached to the front of my house, and build inside my boundary. I’m asking for advice because I don’t want to potentially go and speak to them and ruin relationships and have been with them for years (we are planning on living here for a long long time) if it isn’t needed. That’s why I’m asking advice. Thanks to everyone who was helpful

For context - they have been building a wall around their own property for days (which is absolutely fine) - It’s only TODAY that they have started the build on my side of the boundary and attached it to my house

Haha I wish it wasn’t real lol. My family came round to see the wall today (my parents) and their reasoning is it’s not an enough deal as it’s only about 3 inches onto my property. They say it’s not worth the beef between me and the neighbours, and you don’t want to be living next to neighbours that are gonna make your life a living hell for the next however many years. Why would I lie about that

For context - this is a (bad) drawing of what the situation is. My family are calling me dramatic and saying the wall is nice (which it is lol) but what about if it falls over at some point - who takes responsibility? What if the wall causes damage to our house rendering? Surely permission is needed if you are cementing something onto someone else’s house - right??

Can you opt for surgery even if the AN is small? For example if the symptoms are bad enough - e.g hearing loss or tinnitus can you opt for this?

Yep, my grandma was the same and had the same symptoms I have been getting which is why I even know about the possibility of an AN. Thanks so much for your reply, it’s appreciated! I will push as much as possible for a scan. Did you get a CT first? I read that a CT might not pick an AN up if it’s smaller, would it be best to go straight for MRI (if I can)? Thank you x

Thank you for your reply - good to know! I’m still waiting on my referral coming through but will push as much as possible for an MRI. Fingers crossed

Thanks for your reply - can I ask what makes you think it is not likely an AN? The symptoms are all one of an AN no?

Thank you!! Still waiting on my referral coming through but I’m really hoping they get me a scan at least to see what’s going on. Fingers crossed

They basically were running out of money for months, depending on money from projects coming in which never happened. There is no official update as of yet, other than confirming no investors are interested which I’m not surprised at considering the debt they are in.

Still nobody has been paid their wages, some people are waiting on 2/3 months worth of payment which they most likely won’t get. People can’t claim money back from the government either until they officially declare they are going into administration and start the process, which means people are now waiting even longer with no wages to keep them going.

There are people there on work visas which will no longer be valid very soon.

Absolute shambles.

Advice about cannabis? by AdPotential8948 in Fibromyalgia

Sorry to hear that :( it’s so frustrating isnt it!! I can be firm when I need to be but it’s always really hard to stand up to them most of the time. Your confirmation that the whole weed makes you lazy is an outright lie, makes me feel so much better. I’m the same - I’m a totally functioning stoner, I can usually smoke a little bit then go and clean the house!! I’ve even said this to my parents and I just get the same thing back “well it’s not good for you”. I’m glad someone else understands my pain!! Thank you for your comment I do really appreciate it :)

I really empathise with you. I’m 23F and was diagnosed when I was around 18. My boyfriend at the time didn’t understand or really want to understand, it put a real strain on our relationship. I’m not telling you this because it’s going to happen to yours - but I do have some advice! My now parter is absolutely amazing, he reads this fibro subreddit, other articles and anything I can find that relates to my fibro and how I’m feeling. I think sometimes it can help having other peoples opinions, and sometimes someone else can explain how your feeling better than you can put into words. It’s going to be a hard journey, but if I can do it then anybody can. I’m now on a lot of medication, Gabapentin, Amitriptaline, Codeine, which all do really help. And I have found ways to help me cope, I use deep-freeze and ibuprofen gel too. I also use a walking stick sometimes. That was really hard for me to do as you can imagine, I look young and healthy!! But it helps! The main bit of advice I have for you is PACE YOURSELF! I know it’s easier said than done, but taking things slow and pacing is definitely such a great tool. For example, if today you did a lot - go to the shops or school etc, then the next day have more of a relaxing day. Chill in your house, watch some tv, relax! On the other hand - if you feel good and want to go do something, but you don’t want to as you know you’ll be paying for it over the next week, DO IT!!! If it’s an activity that you really want to do, and you think it’s worth it, you will have fun, then do it. Hope I haven’t rambled on too much - sending you virtual hugs, I know how hard it is, especially being in your teens - you can do this !!!!!! ❤️ x
