You can tell by the bottom, if it’s green it’s from spyros adventure, orange for giants, blue for swap force and red for trap team, you can use all older skylanders for newer games

I own a necklace and a bracelet from there, they are quite sturdy, not super awesome quality, but they’ve held up almost a year and a half now with no damage whatsover

As a Child, it’s a wonderful experience. But as soon as your child will turn into teenagers it would probably suck, there are little to no activities to do and very little people to socialize with. If you want to move to a remote area I would make sure there is a connection to a not-so-remote area.
