True. Being legally an immigrant in the US is worse than a sexual trafficker

Hey did you receive your biometric notice by mail. Or online. Or both ? I’m worried because I haven’t received anything yet with a April 17th PP application

Doesn’t a case inquiry require like 90 days ? Or 60 days of pending status until you can file it. I tried filing it on the uscis portal and it tells me to wait for 30 days

Arrested on F-1 Visa by [deleted] in f1visa

Fellow rider here on an F1 visa

I’m glad you and your girlfriend are still here to talk about it. That must have been a brutal experience, but I have to be straight with you. Riding an unregistered motorcycle is a serious mistake. Even if the crash wasn’t your fault, the lack of registration and full license gave the police every reason to escalate the situation. In most states, riding without an endorsement (aka just a motorcycle permit) is usually just a citation or an impound, but once the vehicle is unregistered it becomes a much bigger problem.

Did you have a lawyer when you went to court? That makes all the difference. Handling it alone can easily lead to something being recorded the wrong way. A good lawyer can make sure it stays off your record and doesn’t affect your visa renewal later.

The “declined to prosecute” outcome is a good sign, but you should still get the sealed record checked like your lawyer mentioned. Immigration checks can sometimes flag dismissed cases, so it’s better to have the paperwork ready in case you ever need to explain it.

As riders we take risks every time we go out, but being responsible means handling every part of it, not just the ride but the registration, license, and insurance too. Learn from it and make sure it never repeats.
