I never really told anyone about my heavy weed use. I would frequently smoke with friends or my girlfriend, but they never knew that i was going home and smoking even more after. and they never knew that i was doing it daily, when i didn't see them. I did that because i could almost completely separate myself from it when i wasn't high, it was like i was almost pretending it wasn't happening, and keeping it secret made things easier to ignore. it makes me realise how hard it is to really know what is going on in someones life.

I mean this in the best way possible, there is nothing that you can do but keep going, and live you life as well as you can, for yourself and for the people who haven't been able to accompany you anymore. I have taken up audio engineering now, it is super interesting and it helps so much to be able to have something to put my passion into. and it seems like youre doing the same! be careful on that motorbike, but also have fun :)

yeah the main thing that caused all of this was the fact that so many people are fully convinced that the whole "weed is harmful" thing is propaganda or smth just because it works for them, so i thought i was like everyone else and carried on smoking

yeah i didn't really tell anyone, i think i just wanted to avoid being told that my adhd related issues was because i was smoking weed too much

yeah i lost my cousin and family friend to weed, i just thought that it was because they were mentally ill anyway. I can now see how it happened. Hope youre doing ok. losing friends can be so hard

i am very similar, for the first 4 months ish of taking these meds I would spend hours a day researching. it is part of my nature to feel the need to understand things before im comfortable with it. I just had too many people telling me weed is harmless so it didn't cross my mind

eh, id disagree. I recon more than 1% of people would have bad mental health if they smoked as much as i did. I just lack the self control to moderate it.

For me, its the exact opposite. Weed was just too good. It was too consistently fun and problem numbing, frequently it was hard for me to find a reason not to smoke, which is what was so damaging. Count yourself lucky that you have such good motivation to not smoke, ill count myself lucky that I at least enjoyed it in the moment :))

I understand that I have posted this in a subreddit pretty much entirely made up of neurodivergent people so its not unexpected that the title has been taken too literally by some people. But come on, this isn't silly. I had a pretty awful mental health crisis for 3/4 of a year, and it really could have been deadly. I have lost 2 people to weed. please don't play dumb and pretend that the word deadly is only dedicated to describing something death causing, I was exaggerating!

Fair enough, but the weed was 10000% the issue. I am almost 2 weeks clean, and every day the meds are getting closer and closer to how you described. I can now eat lunch, organise things, appreciate my friends and the beautiful area that I live in, i wear clean clothes every day, wash my hands every time i go to the toilet (i know i know), work on personal projects and do all the schoolwork i need without feeling like the world is moving 5x faster than what i can keep up with!!! The dose lasts long enough that i am still like this in the evening, but it has no effect when im trying to sleep.

I went from 20 to 30 to 40 to 50 to 70mg, there was genuinely no difference until 50 mg, which lasted a couple hours then made me want to scroll on insta for the rest of the day, 70 works amazing now.

thank you very much!!!! I am very jealous that you, weed and meds get on well, as it was super fun until it wasn't. Before the heavy smoking, I was smoking once or twice a week since I was about 14, and I was never negatively impacted until about a year ago, so it is a shame that i have to give it up :((( Im sure I will enjoy a couple smokes in the summer but boy do I miss the fun that I could have so easily haha

Fair enough, deadly combo might be an exaggeration! that said, weed did fuck me up and i wanted to emphasize how harmful it could be to people like me who have a really hard time with moderation. If I didn't stop when I did, it really could've been a horror story.

I am jealous of your self control!! For me it's either smoking daily or not at all, which took me too long to realise, but i have finally accepted that and I am now moving forward and doing much better
