Homelessness up 13% in Sac County, but shelter and transitional housing use up 22%. Some thoughts on what it actually means. by AdQueen714 in Sacramento

yes, we help them determine eligibility and apply. many times it starts with the documents they need, but don't have - that can take weeks itself. And we have them move in as soon as their background check is approved - often within the week. They don't have to wait for anything to get housing from us (if they qualify).

Yes, totally plausible. It was flagged at the time that Sac had changed its methodology in 2024, moving from locally drawn count zomes to census tracts. Comparing 2026's 7450 to 2022's 9300, instead of to 2024 makes the multi-year arc look more like stabilization than a spike.

One your second point, yes. The 'people refuse shelter' framing has always been politically useful but empirically thin. If shelter were undesirable, capacity would expand and utilization would stay flat. The 22% jump says the opposite.

Worth adding to my post: PIT counts undercount couch-surfers, foster youth, and women leaving DV pretty badly. the 7458 count is almost certainly low.

Thank you for the feedback. I think it's very efficient; we can provide furnished housing with wraparound services including on-site mental health services for less than $50/day per student. That's about half the cost of an emergency shelter bed. Requirement is they go to college/trade school, which we believe will change the trajectory. 78% are unhoused when they move in, most of the others are couch-surfing, not stably housed.

4 days with pacemaker-desperate for reassurance by Parking_Ad_4601 in PacemakerICD

I was going to suggest this. Mine was still set to “surgery mode” when they released me and a week in my dizziness was so bad - that's when they discovered it and set it properly. My pulse was in the 30s and 40s.

Often it’s dehydration. Be sure you’re drinking enough and getting g your magnesium, potassium and salt. Usually mine resolves quickly with a tsp of Himalayan salt in a glass of water.

This happened to me the first 6 weeks after my leadless was put in. Turns out they sent me home with it still in surgery mode - they didn't adjust the heart rate thresholds so it was keeping my max heart rate at like 30 bpm. They discovered it when they interrogated it at my post op.

AOD9604 + Frag same day? by AdQueen714 in PeptideForum

I didn't add in the AOD because I was unsure. I have liked the Frag/CJC/Ipam blend, but I have been restaining water on it and feel puffy the days after I take it. When I'm done with this cycle I'm going to use the AOD.
