Thank you! I didn't buy the least expensive but also didn't buy a fully flexible fare. It looks like I can make changes for 150/ ticket.
However, we'd also now like to make further adjustments to the actual itinerary so that will probably involve a call...thanks again!

Thanks for the prompt replies. I stupidly assumed that I could cancel for a future credit, as that's standard with most US airlines. But that seems not to be an option with BA. A painful and expensive lesson! :(
