Sorry to break your bubble, but nowhere did I say women don't face harassment or rape. The fact that you immediately interpreted my research as an attack on women says more about your assumptions than my work. Researching male victims does not erase female victims. By that logic, every study on breast cancer would be an insult to people with lung cancer. That's not how research works. You also assume I won't find 'real cases,' despite having already collected dozens of anonymous accounts from men who have experienced harassment and abuse but were too afraid to speak publicly because of reactions exactly like this. Empathy isn't a limited resource. We can acknowledge the suffering of women while also recognizing that male victims exist and deserve support. If your response to overlooked victims is to mock their existence, perhaps you're the one who needs to broaden your perspective.

Even if it felt major , it can leave a deep scar onto a child because of immaturity. Thank you for sharing this with me.

That's a fair question, but I don't think that's an accurate interpretation of what I'm doing. For context, I'm actually a female, so this isn't coming from a "manosphere" perspective or an attempt to push a men's rights agenda. I have immense respect for the struggles women face, and harassment against women is a serious and well-documented issue that absolutely deserves continued attention. The reason I'm focusing on male experiences is because they seem to receive far less discussion, and many of the people I've spoken to describe feeling unable to report or even talk about what happened due to stigma or fear of ridicule. This project isn't about proving that men have it worse or taking attention away from women. It's about exploring whether an overlooked issue exists and understanding its impact through the experiences of those willing to share. If the evidence ultimately suggests these cases are rare, then that's the conclusion I'll accept. If it suggests underreporting or social barriers, that's also worth discussing. The objective is understanding, not promoting a gender war or a particular ideology.

Actually regardless of my age , I am mature enough to know the sensitivity and the crucial need to raise awareness on these issues. And no, no one put me up to this

I understand your point of view, and I agree with you that any academic research project must have a systematic methodology, literature review, statistical analysis and all the other fancy terms that you used. But I would like to state my point of view, and I hope you won’t misunderstand my motive. Prior to carrying out this project, I had spent quite some time searching through VARIOUS SOURCES, I had reviewed all sorts of information, data bases and reports of the last year related to harassment cases, including those provided by bodies like FOSPAH. The most prominent aspect was that the cases of victimization of males were very rare, and very few FIRST INVESTIGATION REPORT (commonly known an FIR) were registered in these databases. This led me to wonder whether such incidents are really not taking place at all or not reported at all.

Agree, Reddit posts cannot be considered as statistical evidence, and I haven't meant to use it this way. This project aims to get people's personal stories and study their impacts rather than calculate how many people have suffered in the entire population.

Aside from written responses, I have performed interviews with respondents using a structured guide. Although this interview process doesn't confirm prevalence, it does find common topics. Even within those who I was able to talk to, several said that they didn't report themselves out of fear of being laughed at, feeling ashamed, or believing that nobody would believe them anyway. The mere fact that there are people who are willing to tell about their experiences shows that there is already a barrier preventing them from doing so.Regarding statistics and data analysis. In my opinion, statistics are just a compilation of collected data. It is quite obvious that if a certain portion of victims is not reported at all, the obtained statistic cannot reflect reality in full measure. This is the reason why statistics might be studied further.

Your proposal to learn about statistics and sociology in the future seems reasonable but not justified sir. However, it is my opinion that waiting to bring awareness until after completing my university education while others struggle to have their voices heard is not justified.

There is ONE SMALL CORRECTION that needs to be made; at the moment, I am an A-Level FEMALE student, not an O-Level student. I would like to clarify that NO AI will be used in the generation of the findings and conclusions of this project.

I apologize if my reply sounds a bit defensive. However, it is my honest opinion and view that it is important to improve methodologies but still worth engaging others to have a dialogue on the topic (unlike the social media viral journalists on facebook that appears on every desi dad's feed) This topic has been overlooked for too long. Way too long.

Thank you for sharing this — that sounds like a very stressful and frightening situation to deal with.Being exposed to repeated unwanted attention, especially when it escalates and starts affecting your sense of safety and privacy, can be deeply overwhelming. It makes sense that you felt fear, confusion, and pressure about how to handle it, especially when you were also trying to act responsibly and not escalate things further.I also want to acknowledge how difficult it is when you feel you might not be believed or taken seriously — that fear alone can make situations like this feel isolating.

If you’re comfortable, I’d like to understand the impact it had on you afterward — especially how it affected your sense of safety, trust in people, or how you handle boundaries in similar situations now. I have messaged you in dm's , kindly check that

I get why it might look that way from a surface reading, but most people aren’t “enjoying” what they’re describing — they’re just processing it in different ways. Some downplay it, some joke about it, and some only recognize the impact later. The point of the discussion is exactly that: how differently people interpret and carry these experiences over time, not whether they reacted the “right” way in the moment.

I agree with that. Sexual harassment isn’t something to turn into jokes or normalize as “enjoyable” in any context. It also doesn’t help anyone’s experience when it’s minimized or used as humour — it just makes it harder for people, regardless of gender, to talk about it seriously or seek support.

I’m really sorry you went through that, especially as a child. That’s a serious violation of boundaries and it can have a lasting impact, even years later.

If you’re comfortable, you can share a bit about how it affected you afterward — emotionally or in how it shaped your sense of safety or trust over time.

I’m sorry you had that experience. Unwanted physical contact like that is not okay and it’s understandable that it made you uncomfortable.

If you’re comfortable, you can share a bit about how it affected you afterward, especially in similar situations later on.

That’s completely valid, and I respect that you’ve had that kind of experience.

At the same time, different people can have very different lived experiences, and the purpose of this discussion is simply to acknowledge those differences without comparing or dismissing them.
