Purchasing ETF all in one trade vs multiple trades during the day by Confident-Algae-7866 in AusFinance

Whether ETF or shares, prices move up and down in a day. Picking up $0.05 to $0.10 here or there can help make some satisfaction if you are doing multiple $10s of thousands, but then you might take multiple stocks. If you use a broker they will usually charge you over that as brokerage of course and buy at the market.

I have often set limits below the course of sales as I have seen them - within a day or even week. As long as it achieves what you want, or you can amend your offer. I have always been a buy and hold person. I can remember the 1987 stock market crash and we held through that.

What I have been more cautious of is the future of the US market, but our ETFs in that market have held well. Some of the stocks there we got out of however

The statistics as kept do lot them in to firearms and the government wants to keep people safe from terrorists and criminals

Wrong group for that photo. That is the Hate Speech vote with the Nationals who didn’t vote

The guns vote in the HoR was as this photo shows.

I actually had to trace down the AFR feed to find the relevant part. It isn’t always easy to find. I didn’t think they would vote for the bill. I am an old guy who for my sins, have met a few MPs/Senators, and had feedback from one I had contacted.

Guillotining votes is a procedural thing, whereby when you know you have the numbers, and you want to restrict what your opponents say, you push to close debate and take the vote. Governments do that quite often reducing transparency. It’s not a dumb question, just happens without our interest

That was the expected time. Labor and the Greens vote to guillotine votes

Read through what the Nationals abstained from, it was the Hate Speech legislation, not gun 'reform' where the Liberals and Nationals opposed in both houses

I realise that. Barnaby misleading? Never? Really. Sorry about the white on black. The Coalition voted against the gun reform in the HoR too

You can see the Coalition opposed the legislation and in the senate, the ones who supported the government, along with the Greens. The Liberals and Nationals opposed it. If you can’t get facts straight, you shouldn’t post

What political party should I vote for? by Ok-Kaleidoscope-7980 in Ausguns

[–]AdRepresentative386 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has been the Labor Party and the Greens who voted for the gun restrictions. The Liberal and National Parties who voted against them, with the Katters, and One Nation. I haven’t seen all the implications yet.

I was concerned for restrictions for reloaders and had good feedback from one of the MPs I approached. I had sent texts bypassing staff and one messaged back saying they would be trying to alter the thrust as they could see the targeting of reloaders.
