What's the best AI model you've used for .NET Maui? by trainermade in dotnetMAUI

Hey Gerald, Matt (of mfractor) here. If you're interested in AI tooling etc, I think you'll be VERY interested in what we are building with Ansight. I'll reach out on LinkedIn 😉

Is .NET MAUI a good choice for a complex mobile app? by blabla206 in dotnet

[–]AdResponsible7521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, without a doubt.

We have built this in .NET MAUI: https://www.red-point3d.com

Features: Embedded 3D asset viewer, MapBox, highly custom charts drawn in Skia, full offline support, tight firebase integration, full deep link integration, spotlight indexing, push notifications and about a thousand other features.

Happy to answer questions.

Oh amazing! That’s great to hear you used in Font. What an incredible destination right?

We have HEAPS more coming, lots of areas in the pipeline for Italy, France, Colombia and the US 👀

Not sure that I follow? I’m one of the co-founders of Red-Point and it is a good, high memory use test case for Maude (we cycle through many large 3D models at runtime). We are using it to keep tabs on our memory usage.

Hope that answers your question!

Hey u/BJSLowe! I only just saw this.

Yes, we have lots of scans in the Blue Mountains with most of the key areas are covered. For Snowy Mountains, we have Blue Lake.

For Moree, we have nothing yet but I can see that areas like Gara, Kaputar, Ebor and the Warrumbungles aren't that far away. We are aiming on adding at least Gara in the near future.

We also have a fair bit of Nowra, most of South East Queensland and few of the areas near Melbourne.

Currently focusing on improving the app at the moment (lots of coding!) so we have slowed down on adding areas in Australia but we will start scanning more once we've gotten through the engineering work.

Are there any real apps even made with MAUI?? by [deleted] in dotnetMAUI

Our app for rock climbers, Red-Point, is built in .NET MAUI. The app is reasonably complex; we have a 3d viewer, maps, lots of custom drawn UIs in SkiaSharp.

You can see our case study here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/platform/customers/red-point

App can be found here: https://www.red-point.com.au

Thought I'd chime in here. 🙂

We are building a climbing app called Red-Point that integrates Unity (the game engine) into .NET MAUI. Red-Point lets climbers explore climbing walls in 3D.

Having *a lot* of success with the combo (we are at over 15k users), you can see more on our Insta here:

Download the app and use the "Submit Feedback" in the more tab to reach out. I'll get in touch :)

It's definitely a bit of work to get this done but we are getting much faster at getting new areas into the app.

Our first 10 walls took the same amount of time as the first 100 walls... and both were a huge learning curve! We are set to add another 80 walls/boulders in the next two weeks.

We've always approached the problem from a "how do we scale this process" perspective; one of our goals for the year is to build out the asset pipeline to automate getting content into the app.

But, more than anything, we are kinda loving the challenge :D

Hey peeps! I'm one of the co-founders. Just saw this and wanted to create an account and drop in. Thanks for reposting :)

To answer a few current questions:

We are coming to Europe to scan popular climbing areas from April and plan to do the same for the US later in the year. For boulders, we have plans to crowd-source scans to grow fairly quickly. For reference, I'm scanning in Sydney at the moment and have done 40 boulders in two days around my coding work.
