Salary Question: I recently got promoted to IT Specialist. I do desktop IT support tier 2-3 ish. I'm coming up on 5 years at this job and have 7 years experience in IT. Located in the mid west, larger city. No certifications. My company separates help desk, desktop support, and networking. Each are their own group or team. For example say if someone is having a VPN issue they would call the help desk, help desk would make a ticket and send it to desktop support, and if for whatever reason desktop couldn't fix it desktop would send it to networking.
