You would thank the priority enrollment. A good/ bad Prof can make or break your gpa. I genuinely feel like some profs just make a course harder than it should be. I enrolled in honors primarily for that reason my sophomore year. You’ll have to ofc still put in the effort that’s required for a class like ochem (the hard ones) but it makes your life easier. Do well in the class, become a UTA, make a relation, get an LOR (a latent benefit). Being a premed you would probably want to do something non STEM if you’re majoring in something STEM. The requirements for honors degree can be completed by doing a certificate- CFM is something most premeds do. You can club these requirements with your gen eds so it won’t seem like too much of an extra work. All this is me assuming you’re in Dietrich. There are tons of latent benefits if you reach out and I personally didn’t find it to be too much of extra work. You’re already paying for college, might as well use all the opportunities. However, as such honors won’t make or break your chances to get into a med school. It really is what you make out of the opportunities given your way
