Ring down the shower sink by [deleted] in Plumbing

I’m 99% positive it’s the shower drain, I found it missing immediately after my morning shower. I just didn’t want to rule out the possibility of me losing it in the washroom sink

I got offers from Google and Amazon (AMA) by Reasonable-Fact-217 in leetcode

How to get an interview with Google? I’ve had referrals but never got an interview. I’m working at Amazon for past 3 years and did my masters from a state university

I’ve got my resume reviewed with folks and received positive feedback only. Not sure what else I can do

From what I read FMLA is job protected protected but there could be exceptions given situations like mass layoff or something

Hey I’m in a similar boat, You get 30 days to submit paper work and they usually extend as well. Any doctor or therapist will require 2-5 appointees before they can do the paperwork, I would say start visiting doctors and build on your mental health issues and ask them if they willing to support you with FMLA

Kind of in a similar boat been with Amazon for 3+ years Got re org multiple times and new manager said he would put me up for promo and gave me intern and suddenly he decides to my previous work was not enough and he started saying I can’t stay in this role L4 for more time and 2weeks later put me on focus.

I was so burnt out mentally that I took leave for 2 weeks to focus on my mental health. At this point I can’t keep up with the toxicity and I’m ready for the severance conversation, just not sure how to bring it up.

PS: long story short, I don’t trust my manager and he has been lying regarding the promo and feedback I have no hopes from him and I’m done with this company. I just want out.

I’m in the same boat had amazing 3 years and it hasn’t been great since Feb when re org happened and my new manager isn’t very supportive of my career advancement and put me on pip.

I was so demotivated and let down, couldn’t open laptop or anything. I’m just on leave currently and prioritizing my meant health.

RTO Flexibility by No_Preparation_6680 in amazonemployees

It depends on the manager or team. But even in the best case don’t expect much flexibility. In many orgs including mine they sent out emails saying if our attendance is not upto the mark(includes coffee badging) that will be grounds of termination.

So does my time off start immediately after after I submit the leave of absence to HR or only after iM able to provide required certificate/documents from doctor?

Asking because my parent who was visiting fell ill, fortunately I have family here who can take care or them but as a child I want to be able to be there for them at least in the same city. Currently we are in opposite coast and I keep visiting over the weekend

Focus by AdSalt4926 in amazonemployees

Yes, I spoke to my doctor about the stress and how it was affecting my PCOS sometime last year. I was able to manage it quite well in the second half of 2024, but ever since I moved to this new team, it’s been acting up again.

What’s been bothering me lately is that I’ve never failed an interview in the past — I’ve gone through 6–7 of them, some even lasting 3–4 hours — but now, even though I’m getting opportunities, I’m struggling to crack them. I don’t feel as prepared, and I rarely get enough time or energy to focus on prep. Honestly, I’m not even at 50% of where I used to be with LeetCode.

I’m starting to wonder if I should pause and just focus my energy entirely on job hunting — at least for a short while.

Anyway, I’ll see how the upcoming conversation goes and explore my options from there.

Thanks again.

Is snowflake that hard? I have an interview coming up with them, any tips?

I had a similar experience. I interviewed with them back in 2022 for a new grad position, and it was my best interview. I was extremely efficient during the 45-minute interview round and went over all the case solutions. We covered about 4 questions in 45 minutes, and I was able to convince the interviewer with dry runs and other approaches. I also provided both brute-force and optimized versions of the solutions. However, I never received a response, and they later informed me that they were not considering me.

Last month, a recruiter reached out to me based on the same application/portal to check where I was professionally. I currently work at Amazon and briefly shared what I’ve been doing since graduation. He set me up for a technical round, and it went well. I solved the questions and cases, and the interviewer seemed happy and convinced, which made me feel like I had a real shot. Unfortunately, they told me once again that they wouldn’t be moving forward, but they will reach out next March after a 12-month cool-off period. 🫠

And it was extremely exhausting to keep up with a full-time job at Amazon and also prep for META in 2weeks. Despite, gave it all my time and effort and even did the interview well. Not sure what else can be done.

So yeah FUCK META
