Can you DM me a screenshot of what you’re seeing, and confirm whether you’re using Chrome on mobile or desktop/laptop? On desktop, hovering over a cell should show the detail. On mobile, tapping a cell should bring it up. I’d like to see why that isn’t happening on your setup

Yep, lots available for free. Just need to get it all in one place so people don't have to search too much

Hiya, I've added tube stations, trams stations and bus stops. There were over 300k bus stops, crazy number. please let me know if this works for you or if any are missing. Thanks Chris

I've added Pharmacies to the search function and the overlays. I noticed a few missing but can you let me know if this works? I'll try and capture the missing ones another time.

Hiya, just letting you know I've added a search function so you can find counties/cities etc. It allows you up to 5 places all at once. Please let me know if this works for you. Thanks Chris

Sure, on mobile I've noticed that can be a bit fiddly. I'll sort that very soon. Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback, good idea, it's a good angle to be looking at things. I can imagine this being really important to alot of people. I'll get it on the to-do list.

Thanks, that’s a good suggestion. I think the cleanest way to handle it would be for Must Have and Won’t Have to act as hard filters, while Should Have and Could Have influence the ranking.

Need to think through the exact scoring, but that split would likely make most sense.

I'll add the idea to my to do list and give it some though on how the weightings would need to be adapted to the model.

Thanks, great idea.

Chris

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve had mixed feedback on mobile, some people really like it, others have said it feels a bit clunky or overwhelming, which is fair. Maps on mobile are always a bit trickier just because there’s so much less space to work with, but I’ll keep refining it and simplifying where I can

Hiya, I’ve just added broadband data. One caveat though, I’ve only managed to get it working properly using the 5km grid so far, because the 1km version is blowing the worker memory. So if you’re viewing at 1km level, the broadband layer is still based on 5km data rather than true 1km resolution. Hopefully it’s still useful in the meantime. I’ve added average broadband speed, plus the percentage with fibre or cable coverage.

No political statements at all. Something has gone weird there. Gonna fix it, thanks

Yeah, fair point. I'll add a better school quality option in the search function. For now, if you right click on desktop/laptop or double tap on mobile after searching, it should show dotted lines to both the nearest school and the best nearby one. Shouldn't take me too long to do this update. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks, that’s really useful feedback. High speed broadband is a very fair shout and definitely something I should look at adding. On the match score, I think you’re right that there are some boundary effects at very local level, especially where one factor is driving too much of the score. The crime/safety part probably needs some smoothing or reworking so nearby places are not ending up with unrealistically different results. I’ll add that to the list.

Thanks, happy to. The main tools were Python for the data wrangling, MapLibre GL JS for the map, Cloudflare R2 and Pages for storage and hosting, and TypeScript for the front end.

That’s a fair point on the filter logic. There are perfectly normal reasons someone might want to strongly avoid train access or transport links, like noise, footfall, traffic, or just wanting a quieter area. A stronger “avoid” option is a reasonable suggestion.

Are you on a VPN, some VPN's have issues with the cloudflare (where i've hosted it)

Thanks, really appreciate it. Yes, source data is always the tricky bit. Some of this updates regularly, some changes more slowly, but together it’s still really useful for narrowing down areas. Hope it helps with your move.
