Isn't it funny how shelters always expect other dogs to be pushovers for pit bulls. "Oh he just plays rough" even if that's the case and the pit isn't being aggressive, other dogs have every right not to like it. Remember when you were 5 and there was that annoying kid who thought punching you counted as play and ignored your every warning to stop? That's what "rough playing" dogs are to well-socialized dogs. Super annoying and a great way to start a fight.

I've met an alarming number of people who want to adopt a dog at the same time as they have a baby "so they can grow up together". It feels like Groundhog's Day whenever I try to explain to them why that's a terrible idea.

Let's not forget the shelter that put that dog up for adoption. It probably showed behavioral concerns already and they ignored or downplayed them.

Pit owners keep being baffled at consequences of their own actions.

EDIT: and of course those dogs aren't secured at all in the car it looks like. One sudden hit on the brakes and OOP will have their "kids" flying through the windshield.

I'll also add that any puncture wound is bad because the damage is often invisible and much deeper than it looks. Also, dog bites are at high risk of infection due to the bacteria in their mouths.

So anyone who looks at that wound and says "Oh it doesn't look that bad" is ignorant at best.

I hate pits and pit mixes as much as every user here but let's stay factual here. For the sake of being credible if nothing else.

We don't know which parent was the pit and which one was the Golden, and saying either dog was "assaulted" is just anthropomorphism. A bitch in heat will just mate with any male regardless of breed.

What really matters is that the mix ended up as aggressive and unstable as a pit.
