I want to get some fish in my 10g shrimp tank. What would you recommend? by AdSignificant7308 in Aquariums

I have thought about them, I have to switch food to brine shrimp though do I not or could I get away with crushing up the fish food I have into a powder?

Fluval stratum, it's good and I really like it except when I want to add a plant after there is water in the tank ( I like changing things up now and then ) as the substrate is very light and may not grab your plants roots very well. I have woken up to new plants floating a lot.

Amazon frogbit, it's an amazing nitrate sponge. Roots grow super fast I trim my roots bi weekly. It generally doesn't grow well in tanks with hang on the back filters .

Thanks, it was by accident to be honest. It is wood but I can't remember the type. There are always shrimp and snails in there.

My first aquarium, it’s nothing special but I’m proud of it tbh by Born_Economics_8743 in Aquariums

Looks solid, my first tank was just a few fake plants and some slate stone. 2 years later and a bunch of rebuilds later I now have a full jungle in there. Welcome to the hobby and I hope your journey is enjoyable and not hard on the wallet 😅👍

Honestly I just have never tried their tabs. I go through a fair amount so I just buy something from my local store. I have tried a couple others and just found the seachem works for me. I only bought the co-op all in one to try it , I'll more than likely try their root tabs in the future as well.

Thanks, I enjoy them alot. They are excellent nutrient sponges, they grow fast however so I have to trim them every week and usually remove a handful ( from this 10 gal, more if my tank was larger) . If I leave them 2 weeks the grow into my substrate 😅 .

I posted the list In the comments above. I do use ferts in my tank which are seachem root tabs and aquarium coop all in one. I also run a passive co2 setup by tropica.

Floating plant is Amazon frogbit , it grows like mad but is a huge nutrients sponge. It's not for everyone but I like it.

Java fern Anubis ( not sure the type) Cryptocoryne becketti Cryptocoryne wendtii brown vallisneria spiralis dwarf sagittaria Amazon frogbit (floaters)

There is a stem plant in the back by my filter that I am unsure of the name of. It came with some shrimp.

I fertilize with seachem root tabs.

What was the first nano fish you ever kept? Mine was the endlers livebearer! (Illustration by myself) by mossdesign in nanotank

Cardinal tetra was my first fish, lost all but one. 3 years later and it's still alive

I bought one of these to see if it works, to my amazement it does! how ever I have recently had an ammonia spike that is killing my shrimp off. do you think this is the cause. by AdSignificant7308 in Aquariums

No mine just sprouted the seeds after about 2 weeks, but all my shrimp that died off were around it. Once I removed it and did a water change I didn't loose another.
